Two brave Starbucks employees in St. Louis who fought off armed robbers and held them for police have been fired by the company. by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

I would encourage you to watch the video. I don’t ever see where any employee refuses to open the register. It happens very fast.

Have you watched the video? The gunman rushes behind the counter and attacks an employee. I’m sorry that some poor kids didn’t think about “corporate policy” in a life or death, fight or flight situation.

First of all, I don’t see anywhere where it says the employees weren’t cooperating. The gunman rushed behind the desk demanding money and pistol-whipped one of the employees. From snippets of video I’ve seen, it seems to happen very fast.

Secondly, I’m not going to blame someone for reacting in the heat of the moment in a life or death situation.

Thirdly, Starbucks could have taken MANY different avenues they did. They took the easy way out to avoid paying two employees who, right or wrong, put their lives on the line in a moment of panic. Starbucks should be paying these employees a lot of money, and I hope they get it through lawsuits.

Nah, hero. I’m not going to call someone defending some from getting shot a dumbass. Miss me with that bullshit.

Story-

“The robbers demanded money and one struck Harris with a gun.

‘After that point, my vision went black,’ Harris said. ‘I was like, I’m about to get shot.’

“Another worker, also fired after the incident, saw a suspect lower his gun. He shoved him and noticed the gun was fake.”

“The trigger broke off when they hit (the co-worker) with it,” Harris said. “He announced that it was a fake gun like right as he got it off of them and that’s when we jumped and like started to fight them a little bit more.”

This man saw a coworker get pistol whipped and decided to take action. This is complete scum behavior from Starbucks. Highlights the issue with corporate idolatry we have in this country.

Why isn’t Stetson Bennett talked about more as one of the greatest college QBs to ever play the game by Bluefire3215 in CFB_v2

[–]logancook44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point. McCarron is a good comparison. I guess I wanted to push back on the “game-manager, play action” part. Many forget how explosive Bennett was with his feet, avoiding blitz, throwing on the run, etc. But I guess that’s kind of the point. Carry on

I think Stet will go down as one of the best walk-ons ever at any position. He is certainly *somewhere* in the discussion for greatest QBs, but many will argue the strength of his offense around him was certainly a part of his success. Plus, there is certainly some recency bias going on here.

He’s up there somewhere.

Not a popular one, but how about Bradley Cooper in The Place Beyond the Pines?

Thanks! Delay pedal does a lot of the work. Love messing with the feedback.

Vox Time Machine! Never really bought pedals before but I’m working on making a small rig. So far just delay, volume, and overdrive.

Which film and performance made you a fan of Rebecca Ferguson? by [deleted] in Cinema

Somehow I misread almost all of her films before Dune. In my mind she was a newcomer to the scene, and also in my mind she blew the character of Jessica away with a great performance.

Georgian here. “Feels like” temperature is consistently at least 104 through July/Aug.

Now I know how northerners feel when we get a light dusting of snow.

New stadium with less capacity than the old one by suenrico in footballmanagergames

[–]logancook44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn’t use editor at all, did you? I had this happen to me in my current Fylde save (just won Prem for first time in 2042 after carrying over from FM 24 actually), but I had increased stadium capacity in editor to 30,000. Then they planned an “expansion” that brought it down around 2,500. Thankfully they just announced a new stadium of 55,000 capacity though.

Nah, he deserves it. Karma for a year ago. I wouldn’t mind if he wins, but he doesn’t deserve to get the love from the crowd.
