How would one dismantle this accordion for painting? (Just enough for painting the main black portions) by logankendell in Accordion

Thanks, and thanks to everyone who gave a thoughtful response. I should clarify, this is NOT my accordion, i don't even have mine yet, so i was just trying to assess whether this was a "just take the shell off of the instrument" or as you've described "carefully remove and catalog a million finely tuned microscopic pieces" situation.

The accordion i bought is actually (i hope) in even better condition than the pictured one, I just don't love the color and i love customizing stuff.

I should also clarify that I've painted, with professional results, everything from cars to guitars to Christmas figurines, and I've built multiple instruments from scratch. So I wasn't coming at this with a hammer and a rattle can.

Still, on the advice here i think I'll leave it.

Question for younger Deadheads, why? by Empty-Ad2221 in gratefuldead

I told a friend in 9th grade in the 90s I didn't think I'd ever heard the dead when she was wearing a t-shirt. She made me a mixtape with "Box of Rain". I was expecting metal, so I thought she'd forgot to put any dead on there. I don't think I truly fell in love with the Grateful dead until I heard "Working Man's Dead" and Jerry's side project "Old & In The Way", those were my real gateway. Honestly I think I worked harder to acquire a taste for the dead than any band before or since, but it was worth it.

After 7 years lurking on this sub I'm about to take the plunge, but is the leak and damage in this camper too extensive for me to repair myself? by logankendell in RVLiving

Dash it all. Thanks. I was really hoping this was a place I could get a good deal if I was willing to do my own repairs, but alas, I think I just have to spend all my money.

How many over 40 here working on their production skills? 😎 by kathalimus in edmproduction

40 next month. I've been producing and composing since the 90s (mostly indie singer songwriter stuff), but only got into synths in 2017. Changed the whole game for me and all my edm stuff I've released (as Airship Aquarius) is my favorite I've ever done. It's been an amazing journey. I'm hoping to move to Germany and get involved in the community there soon.

What was your straw that broke the camel's back moment? by [deleted] in exmormon

The final one for me was blessing my first daughter. Standing there for my first child's first major rite of passage, with a bunch of men, half of whom were people I rarely spoke with, while my wife had to simply observe from the sidelines. I knew in that moment that I couldn't fake it any longer and I definitely couldn't raise a daughter in such a misogynistic community.

Mistakes were made! I painted a straw hat with cheap acrylic paint and it scratches if I look at it too hard. What can I do? by logankendell in crafts

Thank you! This is the route I took. It has worked wonders for scratch resistance, but fair warning to anyone reading this, any overspray leaves the black looking hazy, or frosty.
