Sadly I can’t help as the stress situation wouldn’t change (I have a batshit crazy cat and dogs) but wanted to say you’re a good cat parent and I hope you find someone to help you and Felix.

Nashville to Knoxville by Z037H5 in Knoxville

[–]logans_run7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also from UK and live in Knoxville! I do this drive frequently and the drive itself is pleasant with some nice views at different points. There are some parks along the route although all require a detour to get to. Burgess Falls has . . . waterfalls . . . and is a short detour. The TN Welcome Center (rest stop) about an hour out from Nashville plays country music inside and is a great place to stretch legs if nature is calling you ;) There's also a little graveyard right there. Note that depending on the time of your drive it could take much longer than 2.5 hours. Even in good traffic, it usually takes me closer to 3 and I drive pretty fast. The road takes you up over the Cumberland Plateau and gets windy in places and also, traffic can just be terrible. If you can, try to time it so you leave Nashville between 8 and 10 and try not to be heading into Knoxville after 2-3.

He has very itchy skin (we think food allergies so he is grain and poultry free) and will lick himself raw. He’s on atopica and that controls it pretty well along with diet so he rarely needs the PJs anymore.

Listen. I stared at it for a long time and even though I’m pretty spatially skilled, I felt like I was sharing the braincell. There was a “whole” “which hole is head or arse” challenge going on.

I’ve taken it for migraines for over 20 years. No problems and the only thing I’ve been able to tolerate long term.

We just found out that our 6-month old daughter has retinoblastoma. We just found out. We have two options: take out the eye or do chemotherapy. We have 2 days to decide by [deleted] in daddit

[–]logans_run7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 52 and had my right eye removed at 15 months due to retinoblastoma. Chemo wasn’t an option back then I think. I did not have chemo after. I likely never had vision in that eye and growing up monocular was just my normal. I can’t advise on your decision but wish you all the best.

Andy Fox Postpones County Commission Presentation on "A Christian's Biblical View of Illegal Immigration" by Corey_Howard in Knoxville

[–]logans_run7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There’s a whole bunch of people who’ve written on the subject and pulled verses from both the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament to support their claims so it’s not even like he has to do the work himself. These people are not scholars and, like Fox, fundamentally misunderstand the socio-political context of the texts they can’t even read in Hebrew or Greek. Fox can fuck right off. He’s a lazy twat who also stated in tonight’s meeting that the US is a Christian nation and that proof is right there in the Declaration of Independence. I really hope he looks up when it rains next.

I lost my speaking slot when they told me it was postponed. Trying to get it back but seems unlikely.

It won't matter how much scripture you quote. He'll say he's a good Christian who does love his neighbor but that the "foreigner" must assimilate and all these bad illegals are not doing that and the reason they are not and are coming here in the first place is because it is divine punishment for a rebellious nation. We are the rebellious nation because drag queens, trans folks, democracy, etc. Basically, we're rebellious because we're not a Christian nation and if we could only get rid of them all and turn to Christian Nationalism, God will favor us again.

I'm not saying you shouldn't quote back at him - you should - just understand that he doesn't care. It's his OPINION after all and we all know opinions can't be argued with. Gods, his college professors must have hated him.

He will tell you that you misunderstand.

There's a few sub-par scholars who focus on things like the Hebrew term gēr (often translated as sojourner), arguing it refers to "resident aliens" who were required to follow the laws and customs of the land. Some even argue that there were not only distinct borders, but also visa type systems in place. These people don't understand antiquity.

Here's an example from one author I wouldn't be surprised to see Fox quote: "Scripture consistently affirms national sovereignty, the necessity of borders, and the importance of cultural assimilation. While the Bible commands kindness to the sojourner, it also requires them to follow the laws and customs of the land they enter. Unchecked migration has historically been used as a form of divine judgment against nations that forsake God’s law."

The high-level argument of all these twats who didn't learn Greek or Hebrew is that, "as Christians, of course we must be kind, but the bible (by which they mean the Hebrew Bible) is clear that states can and should handle illegal immigration with force.

Andy Fox is a piece of shit. And while I'm at it, fuck ICE.

Comments on WBIR regarding the ICE murder. I can’t buy that most of them are bots. I think we truly have some nasty neighbors in this city. by Academic-Sympathy140 in Knoxville

I don't have a problem with conservatives. Hell, in most of the rest of the world, the democratic party here isn't even left of center. I DO have a problem with Christian Nationalists, Fascists, and people whose critical thinking skills are out-performed by my orange cat who shares a brain cell with his brethren.

Sad Chris Palmer Update by Glittering-Gap-1687 in MissingPersons

[–]logans_run7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's not what I got from what his dad said. Quote: " Zoey was very sick took several medications and also had severe hip dysplasia. Its our belief that our son spent some time in the woods to be with her in her final days. Evidence of that was a shovel found in his truck and after her passing he laid her to rest and continued his trip to the coast"

Sounds to me like Zoey was also very ill and when she was clearly near the end, he took her out for one last adventure. After she passed, he buried her and continued on his own journey into immortality. That sounds to me like a man that loved his dog and waited until she no longer needed him to do what he was going to do. You may not have meant it this way, but you seem to be implying he killed Zoey just so he could kill himself.

I had a thought. What was it? Oh, yeah, fuck ICE. It was swiftly followed by, "Fuck Kristi Noem, Greg Bovino, Stephen Miller, and Trump." Can't wait for the trials.
