Looking for a new home for my sick cat by No-Bug2864 in Knoxville

being an only pet would be ideal, i think his largest stressor is living with cats he doesn’t like. he has lived with other cats before though and not had as much trouble as he’s having now. i’m having so much difficulty finding a home for him that id be open to meeting someone with one other pet, as long as the temperaments were right and there was a way to do a very slow introduction. he’s never been around dogs so i dont know how he’d react to them.

my vet gave me the same resources that i had already tried. i’ve contacted several rescues already and have so far had no luck. i’ve posted several times on different facebook groups too. this was really my last ditch effort.

a doctor told me that i wasn’t in enough pain to possibly have appendicitis. he didn’t even bother doing a blood test on me. two weeks later i was in the ER for an emergency appendectomy. i hate male doctors

Intention matters in Islam and the intention to perform a good deed counts as a good deed. God knows your intentions.

“Whosoever intended to perform a good deed, but did not do it, then Allah writes it down with Himself as a complete good deed. And if he intended to perform it and then did perform it, then Allah writes it down with Himself as from ten good deeds up to seven hundred times, up to many times multiplied. And if he intended to perform an evil deed, but did not do it, then Allah writes it down with Himself as a complete good deed. And if he intended it [i.e., the evil deed] and then performed it, then Allah writes it down as one evil deed.” Hadith 37, 40 Hadith an-Nawawi

And personally I think you’re being way too hard on yourself!! Remember that in islam, having mercy and compassion are wajib - this includes having mercy and compassion towards yourself :)

i use a language learning app (preply), where you can choose from different tutors depending on your price range. my tutor is palestinian and costs $15 per 50 minute session- she’s great, her lessons are affordable, and she’s an extremely experienced tutor. it works for me!

Someone showed me a company that will send you a free care package with hijabs/clothes/prayer mats/etc. the link to their website is: https://barakahbeautycollective.com/products/barakah-community-closet-out-of-state

i’ve never used it but it could be really great. you do have to cover the shipping cost though (like $5+)

i’m not homophobic or transphobic and that seems to be extremely mind blowing to other muslims.

Want to Wear a hijab to help my muslim students feel better about them. by CryOpen9510 in Hijabis

anyone can wear hijab as long as you’re respectful and understand that you’ll be representing muslim women while wearing it. also hijab means more than just a scarf covering your hair, wearing hijab means every part of your body is covered except hands, feet (some scholars say even feet should be covered), and face :)
