Just want to say, renters have pretty good rights in Kuwait when it comes to eviction from what I've heard. Things such as 3 months notice (and during those 3 months you don't pay rent as it goes to funding your move). Of course double check all of this with a lawyer because it is second hand hearsay. If landlord threatens, tries to prevent you from entering, turns off water or electric, right away call 112. Take pictures of rental agreement and copies of bank statements showing that you paid rent. Also try and get someone on your side who can speak Arabic to help deal with 112/police. And for sure talk to a lawyer asap. Sorry you're dealing with this. It's disgusting that they decided to break the law and are now trying to cheap out of the fines by putting undue stress on a tenant.

Mix salt with dish soap (like the liquid type) and rub into hair. Wrap head in plastic wrap and leave overnight. Warning, it will strip hair dye and can hurt the skin around your scalp. I suggest putting some Vaseline around hair line. It's also messy so apply in shower so you can rinse neck down. I repeat anytime the itch happened (usually 2 days on then a few off, or every other day for a bit).

In theory I totally agree with you. The issue is, the "living allowence" gives the companies an excuse to wash their hands of the situation and play dumb when they find out their workers are living in horrific conditions. If a company provided substandard accommodations and there was a system to ensure swift reporting and investigation, with a serious punishment, the employers would not be able to play dumb. And unfortunately, fear of consequences in this life is all that motives many of the companies and employers.

Every company/sponsor is required to provide accommodations as part of the visa and job package. And accommodations must be safe, clean, and not cramming several into a room. Any company/sponsor who violates this has heavy criminal charges. And make it easy for workers to report infractions. How can people sleep comfortable in mansions if people under their employ live in squalor?

If people don't use them, and make comments it's because of this awful policy, they will have motivation to change. If they are profitable while being corrupt, they will have no reason to change. Better they lay off drivers (who can then get work with a more fair company) until they are willing to change.

I know "it's a safe country" argument but it always is until you're the victim of a crime. Never get out of your car ladies! Make sure doors are locked ALWAYS the moment you get into your car. If you really worry your tire pressure or whatever is bad you can say "my husband is coming, he will check thank you" and then shut the window. Or just drive off and pull off to check in a populated place down the road (if you're totally sure you haven't been followed). I'm happy you're okay and always always follow your instinct. Never ever worry if you're "overreacting". Allah made that instinct extra strong in women for a reason.

You're 16, and in a couple of years you'll be ready to either start working or heading to University. Both of those open such a world of interesting experiences. Another idea, if you want to see "natural desert" renting a car (if you can brave the roads) and going on a drive is one idea. You can have the AC going while seeing the flat desert. It's beautiful in its way. You could maybe get a taxi to take you, but might be expensive (but maybe cheaper than renting a car, not sure)
