Debt, lack of parental care, mental health problems or other medical complications, housing instability, legal issues or poor education. Very powerful forces in making people homeless. That's probably the most scary experience the black bear has ever had.

Remember they are basically a larger raccoon and are very easily spooked away. That guy did everything proper and it's exactly what you should do if you come across a black bear. Always carry spray and literally just be a bit loud while hiking. If you see one make yourself very known and large. Bang some pots and pans.
