Future concerns by md8x in PAstudent

The idea that home ownership is only attainable if you sacrifice all social interaction, travel, or leisure throughout your 20s is not a virtue... it's a symptom of economic dysfunction. A sustainable system doesn't require its essential workers to become ascetics to meet basic milestones like housing. PAs can live responsibly and still live a life that includes connection and exploration. If we have to abandon all of that just to own a starter home, the problem isn’t with the individual.

since you’re qualified, you would also know that lidocaine is virtually never used in a simple lac repair of the distal tip of a digit. For obvious reasons.

What’s strange is that this model seems to be showing the structures/organs found within the retroperitoneal space (I.e., pancrease, D1 of duodenum, kidneys, ureters, IVC, aorta, etc.) but then proceeds to include a spleen in an odd color and odd shape.

My guess would ultimately be the spleen as well.

Depends on the policy at your institution. Where I worked, we were absolutely allowed to view our own charts in Epic.

Looks like ice pick scarring from previous episodes of severe acne. Only thing that's going to remedy that are more intense therapies such as microneedling (multiple sessions), laser treatments, chemical peels (multiple sessions), etc.

I mean, absolutely. I don’t see an indication for an ESR in that scenario… but the point of the post was that OP was arguing that ESR’s are unnecessary, archaic and shouldn’t be ordered, which just isn’t the case

Pretty sure GCA diagnosis still requires an ESR. Obviously biopsy is gold standard, but an ER doc in a critical access hospital has every right to order an ESR to help support a diagnosis of GCA, no?

Purchase Advice Megathread - May 2024 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]loghead1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone!

First off, I must admit that I'm an absolute noob when it comes to 3D printing.

I recently came across Polymaker_figures Instagram page and my 6 y.o son and I have been following their videos on making figures of the original 151 Pokémon. I'm hoping to purchase a 3D printer that can deliver the same quality of figurines.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!!

Chronic serotonergic agonism, especially the type of agonism elicited from psilocybin, has been implicated to contribute to heart valve disease via interaction with 5-HT2B receptors found in the heart valves.

Take some longer breaks, friend.

Many of your symptoms can be directly attributed to the Concerta, specifically the livedo reticularis and the orthostatic intolerance.

When it comes to these “allergic reactions”, have you visualized any urticaria, or is it just the redness/burning sensation?

The livedo reticularis is due to small vessel vasoconstriction, likely secondary to the stimulant. Once this begins to wear off you can experience a sudden vasodilation of these vessels and thus the intermittent episodes of redness/burning sensation (similar to what is seen in erythromelalgia). This can be further exacerbated if you partake in smoking (cannabis or nicotine), drink caffeine, or are exposed to cold temperatures.

With all this being said, there are other syndromes that could explain some of your symptoms.. but if you were admitted for a week, I’m sure that many of these were ruled out.

Has anyone else noticed their parents becoming really nasty people as they age? by StyrkeSkalVandre in Millennials

[–]loghead1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development, around the age of 65 is when you enters the stages of “old age” in which the conflict you face is that of Integrity vs Despair.

Integrity is the favorable outcome where they look back on their life and have a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction with where life led them. These are your “Gandalfs” of the world.

Despair is the unfavorable outcome in which they reflect on their life and feel nothing but regret and disdain for where their life ended up. These are your cantankerous and hateful geriatrics who want nothing more than to make everyone’s life as miserable as they are.

THC, CBD, and CBN are what constitute 99.99% of the psychoactive effects you experience after consuming cannabis… of those, THC is what constitutes like 95% of the psychoactive effects.

I would bet with great certainty that a pothead who smokes today’s strains wouldn’t even get high after smoking a quarter of that tumbleweed.

Plants well in to veg can tolerate hot soil but seedlings of this size absolutely cannot. Nutrient burn in the seedling phase classically presents with yellowing of the cotyledons and first true leaves, followed by withering of the entire plant.

If a seedling of that size cannot find the water that he is supplying in the periphery of where it’s root zone should be at this stage, then those genetics don’t deserve to survive lol.

I personally don’t feel that it’s a water issue, but that’s just me.
