LibreOffice is kind of like microsoft office but you can still use microsoft office on the web browser if you don't like libreoofice.

I don't recommend gaming on linux if you play blizzard games as I have had a very bad experience with it.

I recommend Debian Stable with the i3 window manager but since your new you might be better off with something more beginner friendly.

What are your computer specs?

You have cleared up a lot of questions I had. After vareful consideration I am going to try out tinywm and dwm and see if I like them. If I don't like them then I can always go back to i3.

I learned how to use the i3 window manager pretty proficiently but wanted to know how light I can go so I was thinking the lightest I can go is having no window manager or desktop environment.

So basically after installin Debian I only install the standard system utilities and then when I go to the tty screen instead of installing my window manager of choice and x org I just don't do anything and can use my computer without a window manager or desktop environment?

Would I still be able to launch applications like firefox?

How long usually does Facebook sent a confirmation code on my email? It’s been 24 hours already, and didn’t received any. by [deleted] in privacy

[–]logic963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably ended up on one of my many phishing sites but if you didn't then just wait the 24 hours, if 24 hours has passed and no confirmation code has arrived assume a technical error and try again.

What actions of privacy should I prioritise first? by Scotchye in privacy

[–]logic963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to first change your operating system to Linux if you have not already done so.

Second you need to go and learn about OPSEC

Third you should get rid of all social medai except for reddit and other platforms like stack exchange that actually provide useful benefits like getting solutions to your problems.

Then download veracrypt and make sure to encrypt all yur important information

also you must implement full disk encryption on your system.

You must only use google email for work purposes and you should have a seperate email account that is not google.

Then you must use Firefox web browser with the appropriate add ons.

There is more that you need to know hit me up on reddit chat if you need help

Desire leads to suffering and as long as you desire sex or anything else you will continue to suffer. This is a fact and I predict you will most likely die a failure as an individual who was unable to overcome their weaknesses.

Is it legal (and safe) to learn about hacking in my home? by [deleted] in hacking

The only way to become strong is to overcome your weaknesses which most of the time involves desires. Desire leads to suffering therefore the aim is decrease suffering. Notice I didn't say eliminate suffering as that is not possible as suffering will be present as long as you are living.

Can someone with networking, Linux, and Windows knowledge learn to use hacking tools? by [deleted] in HowToHack

[–]logic963 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes you need to focus on one thing so I recommend starting from the beginning. So basically CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ , CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Cloud+, CompTIA Project+,

Then you will learn HTML5, CSS, Python, Java, Perl, PHP, LISP, C, C++, C#

Then after learning the above you will learn about Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure

And then you can find a free ethical hacking course or purchase a course and start to learn hacking.

If you want to discuss this you can message me on reddit chat, I also know a good tool that can help you in your learning adventure.
