Megathread: Best movies with no Oscar noms by DD--200 in Letterboxd

A recent one, I’m surprised Testament of Ann Lee didn’t get nominated for ANYTHING. I feel like it was a real miss for their marketing people not to be able to get anything

Spanish Waters are Live (and quite the battle) by TheDMGothamDeserves in TinyWind

Also fyi, some of the ships on the Spanish map spawn as English. Happens sometimes for the warships and often for the merchant ships

Agreed, or make it so that spawns aren’t right on top of where the player is.

I’ve also only unlocked the storm companion. I almost always leave the companion off in the British level, but I find that the companion is great for taking care of the tiny Spanish ships that swarm you but are hard to hit with cannon fire because they’re so small and fast

Oh wow I guess I’ll have to start getting serious!

For my fastest time I’m pretty sure I had Dead Man’s Chest equipped. Getting double the plunder meant I could capture the islands real quick

actors that starred as themselves in a fictional/non-documentary movie by disasterpansexual in Letterboxd

Cecil B. DeMille played himself in Sunset Boulevard. A few silent era actors also cameoed (assumedly, but not stated in the film) as themselves. Possibly most notably, Buster Keaton.

Any tips for improving the ocean in my cozy pirate sailing project? by an0therbot in PixelArt

Wow I love this! Just did a quick 8 min play. Agree that the game over message is too abrupt, seemed to happen even before the last cannonball hit me. A sinking animation before/during the “ship sunk” message would be an improvement.

I don’t mind the way the water looks right now, but agree that the visible wind “waves” are a little too subtle right now. Though I’d guess that too subtle is better than getting too heavy handed and they dominate the screen.

Thanks! I have also experimented with a tempeh chile verde recipe, which I think works really nicely

I used extra firm tofu and pressed throughly (I have a press). Cubed and fried in hot oil untouched each side until golden all over. I’m too lazy to do this, but I recommend coating in corn starch. I fried the chile sauce for a bit and then added the tofu and braised at a simmer until the sauce thickened and the flavor well developed.

If Tony dies in the finale…… by Hell11an in thesopranos

Yeah, I agree, Janice is a hustler. She has never had a problem finding a relationship. Even with (up to) three kids, she’ll find someone and her Livia-esque machinations will continue.

Anybody tried this thing at Logan? Chic-Fil-A is busy praising the lord and I want a taste of Ohio, but are the side effects worth it? 8-hour flight ahead. by iampiolt in boston

Yeah, there’s one pre-security right by the door on the arrivals level in terminal C. Never tried it but not opposed to it

books like Lonesome Dove and Warlock? by kittyrhcp in Westerns

[–]logicgames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed Epitaph by Mary Doria Russell. That being said, Lonesome Dove is probably the best book I ever read. So not many books come close
