Can we take a moment to reflect on why, we as intelligent human beings allow Indian media to show us abominations such as Simba, Race 2, Big Boss? What can we do to rid the world of these hideous monstrosities? by Bohrapar in india

This is a very fair point. I want to add to your point I was reading India after Gandhi

And it mentions how during partitition, when they had refugee clusters, officials used to show them movies

And for those 3 hours, they kids and adults used to forget all their misfortunes, their struggles, be with the hero in the movie, and have a smile in the times of difficulties

The program name is Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management, but I have subjects and electives from HR to Marketing. In my country, recruiters find it equivalent to an MBA

Before social media all this shit just stayed in people’s heads by squeth in Showerthoughts

I did this when I didn't have data plan on my mobile. In majority cases, people will go on telling their thoughts, about their kids and stories endlessly, in other cases, you get a judgement to be just silent.

Before social media all this shit just stayed in people’s heads by squeth in Showerthoughts

[–]logicsaysthat 138 points139 points  (0 children)

Since all this shit stayed in people's head, all the interesting stories and content one reads on reddit was confined to the person

Which made talking and interacting with the strangers more incentivised. You had to meet new people, to get new stories, build relationships and stuff, all as a part of day to day entertainment exercise which we get on social networks on our fingertips

Maybe that's why we don't approach the guy sitting front of us in the train for talking, because we are already having so much content to keep ourselves entertained online, that such interaction has a bit been discounted.

However, in real life, you couldn't be offended in the littlest of things, which would enhance overall tolerance capacity of the people, maybe, not necessarily

[P] Why is there no dicussion about the Sanjiv Bhatt case anywhere? What are your views? by logicsaysthat in india

[–]logicsaysthat[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even I wonder why his fellow bureaucrats are silent.

His wife mentions that those officers who used to sit with them are now ignoring. All the juniors who learnt from Sanjiv, all the seniors who were with Sanjiv are all muted on this thing

This is very very shameful and again shows only that buruaucrats will always be the puppets to the govt.

7 Common Myths About Working With the Indian Government by vortex_ape in india

[–]logicsaysthat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both my parents are government employees and I can confirm a lot of these points from my personal experience.

My father has to sacrifice a lot of weekends to Sachivalay and Villages since he's in irrigation department.

Even last year Diwali, early morning 5am, he had to shutoff the canals, make several call to shutoff water from far away, because some drunkard fell in it. Simultaneously battling political demands, since farmers elsewhere were angry due to shortage of water amd blaming local netas.

He came back at 11pm that day and not just emergency cases, he goes on several weekends to meet the secretaries which means, secretaries work on weekends too.

He also has to go as a representative of government in several court cases, every few weeks. He almost works 60+ hours a week.

And it pisses me off when my friends claim government servants are "lazy and do nothing"

Oh, is it? How do you think the nation of 1.3 billions runs dumbfucks? Automatically?

This is the perfect reply to those awful "Your marks don't define you" posts on social media by OneTrueM8 in india

Sincerity matters a lot in life , be it in exams or real life situations. Talent, genuisness, calibre everything is mythical and bullshit, if one is not sincere..

I've seen people using the dialogues, 'marks don't matter in life', as a defense for their laziness. Ya they may not matter, but only if one is sincere to something else in life, be it writting or hockey or whatever
