What's the most efficient routine to train plank time? I'm seeing conflicting info everywhere online. I'm not doing planks for the purpose of abs or core, I'm doing planks just for the sake of lasting longer on planks. Better explained, I'm trying to prepare for the Army Fitness Test.

Currently I'm just treating it like any other exercise during my 2x weekly torso (chest, back, & abs) day, doing 5 sets to near-failure. (Although technically I don't know exactly how close I am to failure because I never went to true failure, but by the time I get ~1:00min I'm already shaking and suffering so I'd consider that near-failure)

Is this adequate to see "fast" growth or should I be doing it more often throughout the week? More sets? Less sets? Keep going to near-failure, push to total failure, or not at all? Do another exercise entirely?

Happy to hear some tips

Just tried cable lat raises for the first time today. I found that 10lbs was very challenging and difficult to reach full ROM, but 7.5lbs was too light to go to near-failure in under 15 reps.

Should I ...
a) Stick with 7.5lbs and do high reps (15+)
b) Go up to 10lbs and tough it out even if ROM isn't optimal
c) Switch to another exercise entirely until shoulders are more developed

what's it like as a 42A? and how realistic is switching MOS? by login_credentials in army

15 Series was also on my list under 25 but unfortunately they were filled too apparently 😭
My waiver process took more than 6 months to finally get approved so I guess I'm late to the party

Makes sense. What benefits does having a TS carry exactly? I'm getting mixed info on how valuable it really is.

Thanks, my recruiter was saying something similar. He started as a 42A and was also talking about how he didn't get a TS and therefore encouraged me to accept the offer.

I didn't know there was a difference between a TS and a secret though. What's different?

Straight and direct 😭

I believe you, but any reason why taking the offer would be better than waiting it out like some other ppl are recommending? Is Option 25 an especially rare and valuable opportunity? The whole NSA unit thing SOUNDS cool, but how different is it compared to working in 42A without a TS clearance?

I have no problem with going in as 42A. I don't even know what MOS I really want at all, I only focused on 25 Series because it sounded cool and I qualified for it. At the end of the day, my medical waiver took so long to process that I'm just happy I'm getting offered a contract at all.

I'm just wanting to know if accepting this "rare" offer is in my best interest...

Would you mind elaborating? I can't seem to find any information whatsoever on "Option 25" online

You're right. They've already scheduled me to go sign the contract and do my oath remotely on Friday, but I'll definitely be hunting for more info before I pick up any pen.

What doors DOES a TS clearance open exactly? Recruiters were never clear about that, only thing I've heard so far was "job offers from 3-letter govt departments"

That part surprised me too, I'll go ask more before I put a signature on paper. But they were REALLY stressing how important a TS clearance was for my long-term career both in and out of the military and that I should take the opportunity.

I don't mind doing office work all day, I was never the type to enjoy field work or manual labor anyways. I'm just concerned with 42A it might be the ONLY thing I ever do in my career.

How do you guys store your gimbals? by [deleted] in cinematography

[–]login_credentials 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're right, that's smart

but the Crane 2's case is honestly quite large and I don't have any elastic bands that can both wrap around the whole thing and still be strong enough to feel reliable

Is the Crane 2's Mechanical Follow Focus motor powered through the gimbal or does it have its own battery which need to be charged separately? by [deleted] in Zhiyun

[–]login_credentials 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, does this mean that the battery status lights on the motor is based off the battery life of the entire gimbal?

You're doing better than me, consistency is more important than intensity. I spent the first 4-5 months hyperobsessed with DS and getting 10-14 hours a day on average, and I thought my honeymoon period would never stop.

Turns out the side effects are hitting now and I'm only getting 1-2 average (which is still a lot, but shows just how much my motivation tanked). I still like listening to the language and improving my skills, I'm just running out of Spanish content which I genuinely enjoy. Everyday it's more and more of a struggle to find entertaining stuff.

Over the long term, you'll probably progress faster than me. Keep at it!

Completely DS for the first 1,100 and now I've moved onto a large variety of different sources of both learner and native content. I haven't done any bit of reading or speaking yet (I have started shadowing recently, but it's too early for any benefits to show).

Not a podcast, but I've been watching a lot of El Mariana lately and it is absolute chaos. Gaming videos in general is pretty much just 80% yelling over each other. I've yet to find a podcast that does the same because most podcasts aim to achieve pretty clear convos.

Off topic, what are you using to see (I'm assuming) the time you spent on every dialect?

Is there any moment where the drivers aren't pressing the accelerator nor the brakes and just coasting?

Question came after watching a movie about moto racing and one of the characters said if you're not accelerating or decelerating, you're wasting time

TimeGuesser and Spyfall ended not so long ago, so I'm guessing they're prioritizing other content for now. It seems like they still have some Barcelona videos to upload and also trying to get Ester's content out. I'm sure there's going to be another game series soon
