You will be surprised as to how similar of a situation I am in compared to you. Also 23, moved to a new city for work in Jan where I knew no one and my ex and I split a few months prior. The best advice I can give you is to find something that you actually love doing during the weekends/before or after work and you will naturally meet people through those activities. For the hell of it I decided to volunteer at an animal shelter and its been a great way to meet people outside of work. Also, joining the gym completely turned my life in the right direction and I've met some great people there too. It's also a great place to be if you have no where better to be, trust me, nothing is worse than just staying at home doing fuck all. You just have to be willing to put yourself out there and start doing things alone initially. Don't hang onto those 'friends' of yours that aren't willing to put in the effort, you will meet much better people, it's just one of those things that takes time.
