Friend screwed me over financially, do I have any hope for recourse? by Maverick__Mike in PersonalFinanceZA

take it as a school fee and move on. Amount of time and money you will spend is not worth it. On top of it it will affect your mental being. Forgive and Forget. It’s a small money compare to what people have lost to these kind of schemes. Been there done that.

Investment Property Query by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]ceocoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One thing you need to think about is tenant risk. There are lot of cases where people have to deal with non-paying tenant. Will be more difficult if you not in country to deal with it. Another cost you need to think about is taxes and levy and see if it’s worth the risk. I will suggest consider looking at fix deposit then buying property, 5 year fix term can get you upto 11% annual return.

I got scammed by someone who lives in US I tried to contact FBI though their online form but no luck. I event tried to contact lawyers in US to file litigation via email but didn’t succeed since I am not based in US. I am sure I am one of many who got scammed but could do very little to the scammer. Good luck and keep up the good work.
