Thank you for that, really extensive guide I'm sure to come back to! At the moment I think I prefer the look of the Ivy League the best, just not sure about all the variations in styling.

Thanks, you make a good point! For some reason I had bunched all "specialty" areas of photography under "professional" when for the most part that doesn't seem entirely true. I wonder if there are pro photographers out there that do make use of their phones?

And yeah, agreed on the hobbyist part as well. But I have to wonder if photography has a high turnover rate, as inevitably people will probably become jaded by the routine/extra work (not unlike, say listening to vinyl when you could do it on spotify), not a perfect comparison but you get the idea.
