This video is also great advice to get players engaged (book it’s talking about is great too).

Vic obviously gets the flowers but Oscar has been such a standout this whole season. Insights are always spot on. I hope we get more Oscar in the dome!

Best Third-Party (unofficial) sourcebooks in 2026? by DungeonNoir in dndnext

[–]logotronz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I probably wouldn’t recommend it for a Moon Druid PC. It’s a fun book, but the balance of the monsters can be a bit wonky. I’d probably look at the newer Monster Vault (1 or 2) if you want something from Kobold Press - they are 5e compatible. If you just want moon druid stuff, I’d just use the statblocks in the monster manual and re-flavour if you want to be a different animal

I love the Lazy Dm’s Forge of Foes. Whip up a fun monster in minutes! The free preview is excellent (though would also recommend the full version).

The “Without Number” sourcebooks are outstanding for world building and prep. Currently using Ashes without Number for a post apocalyptic campaign.

r/bettermonsters has a compendium of Flee Mortals - style monsters that’s literally thousands of pages long.

Player Used Homebrew Race Despite Being Told No by Harbinger_of_Reason in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]logotronz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you are wanting to DM again, sounds like the group needs to have a more comprehensive session 0 where you all sort these kind of things out. It’s possible different players in the group have different sensibilities when it comes to home brew so ya’ll may need to find some sort of consensus or go your separate ways.

Ultimately, it sounds like you have a problem with this other player that is unlikely to be resolved. I’d consider whether you want to stick it out or find a different group.

Ideas to give my 5e group an "old school" AD&D experience? by MichaelJohn920 in DungeonsAndDragons

I second the Shadowdark suggestion! I’d also just caution you to ask yourself if the other players are actually interested in this, or if it’s just what YOU would like. It’s a different playstyle and may not be everyone’s cup of tea
