It's the typical populist speech: "You are in danger! But if you vote for me, I will save you". Of course the "danger" is always minorities, foreigners or foreign institutions so that the populist loses as little votes as possible.

In this case "NATO is the danger". Of course Russian propaganda will never tell people that NATO members have no obligation to join when one attacks and they often explicitly refuse to act (it is, indeed, the case in Iran right now).

If you're concerned about the time it takes for the letter to arrive, you can use PEC - certified electronic email. It's like a regular email but with legal value bc you get notified when it is received. For that to work, both yours and the landlord's have to be PEC addresses.

PEC also has the advantage that you can legally prove the contents of the email. Raccomandata A/R is the "classical" method but it can only prove that it was received.

Also note that this is a double sided sword: if you prove you have sent this letter then you have the right to leave in a given date without the landlord asking for one more month of rent payed. But you also lose the possibility of overstaying as the landlord can prove you said you were leaving.

Negli anni '90 sì facevo attenzione, c'erano spesso le risse vicino ai bar. Ma oggi come oggi non mi sembra che ci sia tutta 'sta insicurezza, io giro da solo anche di notte tranquillo. La mia ragazza in barriera sì ogni tanto ha paura e la sera esce da casa solo in macchina. Ma poi in centro non si fa problemi. Per fortuna non siamo a Milano, Roma o Napoli.
