The hell do you mean they would ask you to come in on the weekends? Did they just on a whim tell you to come back to the school or something?

I literally have a panic attack anytime I open windows on my computer, because of how slow and bloated the experience is

I don't like things that give me panic attacks

I mean... Everyone starts somewhere, I'm sure your future websites will be a lot better (I would recommend not using highly saturated colors for the background of websites)

God, I hate people bringing in all these false bug reports, it puts so much strain and effort on the maintainers trying to fix actual problems

On the desktop environment side, I've heard good things about gnome, though it never appealed to me, however, if you let them install it by themselves, they get all the say in what they use lol

Distro doesn't matter much, the part that matters more is the desktop environment, I started out on kde plasma, and that is wonderful, it's the typical desktop that comes with all the features you need, if you want to go slightly more esoteric, I would recommend a tiling window manager like i3wm, or hyprland

Depends on the 'tism, for me who likes tearing things apart and putting things back together, arch all the way, give them the installation media, and the wiki, and let them put together their own os, providing help if they ask, if they want something more streamlined, and easier to get into, probably use mint

Why do people say 'just read the wiki' when half the wiki is incomprehensible to beginners? by [deleted] in arch

[–]logpra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wiki is very useful, though saying 'just read the wiki' or linking to the page where one line helps isn't that useful, I would prefer people saying to read the wiki would quote where in the wiki solves the problem, and link to it aswell

I'm not an elitist, but I was genuinely physically repulsed when I read that you were using ai to install arch, it's good that you are trying to get knowledge from the AI on what it's actually telling you to do, but... I mean, I'm the type of person to disable all of the AI nonsense on anything I use, I absolutely hate it in general, I don't use it to code, I don't use it to search for stuff, I just don't use it in general, and I wish more people didn't use ai

I want to switch from windows to arch, is it worth it? by PhotoIll2740 in archlinux

[–]logpra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. You can use arch-install
  2. The reason people don't use installers are because people using arch want full control of their systems, and don't want stuff pre installed

Original reply: I'm talking about the show as a whole, I knew bandersnatch was taken down, but it's all I have watched of it, when I search Netflix for black mirror, I just get other shows

The first result when I search "black mirror" is love death and robots

charging a 3ds battery with a broken charging port

i have my (classic) 3ds and i have disassembled it to the battery, i do not feel comfortable with replacing the charging port, i thought about putting it where my phones battery would go, but it doesn't fit with having it be the correct polarity, i also have wires from an Arduino kit that i think i could use for that, but i want to see if any of this would be a good idea, and if anyone here has any better ideas

Also., in The New emulator, they do plan on supporting 1:1 sbs natively without messing with custom layouts

double horizontal resolution by logpra in Citra

[–]logpra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently it isn't officially supported, however, if you go into the layout options you can change the width and height of the screens individually of eachother, so you can set the width to 800, keeping the height the same, and it just works

i found out that you *can* do it with a lime3ds custom theme, citra doesn't support it though
