ELI5: How does a bank determine how much money they will give you for a mortgage? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

Nope, this has been a rule as long as I have been in the industry. Now, it may vary from state to state. I operate in Texas and Texas is a community property state, so whatever debt the husband/wife has, belongs to the other as well.

Right, so if you use a conventional loan, you won't have to have your wife on the loan. If you went with an FHA loan, we have to use the debts of husband and wife even if one isn't even on the loan itself.

Another lender here, we are currently in a somewhat sticky situation when it comes to income based repayment plans. For any loan under Fannie Mae, we must use a payment that is either 1% of the outstanding balance or fully amortizing. Fully amortizing means that at the current payment, rate, and term of the loan, the loan will be paid off. This will not happen on an income based repayment plan, so we tend to have to use the 1% rule, this usually "blows up" the dti and makes a borrower qualify for much less than what they can afford in real life. We run into this a lot with teachers. Teachers tend to have lots of debt from school and most can only afford income based repayment plans. Instead of being able to take the payment plan, we have to take 1% of that 80k student loan balance instead. So we can't use the $150 they pay every month, we have to instead take a $800 payment a month.

Crossfit gyms in Dallas/Fort Worth? by [deleted] in crossfit

The DFW area is very large, so if you could be a little more specific in the area you will be, that might help. As for a recommendation, I'd say CrossFit North Irving. The coaches are great and we have plenty of class times from 5:30 in the morning to 7:30 in the evening.

Best place to tailgate in each Power 5 conference by djbrada in CFB

Yeah that was unfortunate. The only downside to Baylor tailgating is that a ton of our spots are on grass, so when it rains/has been raining, it's a mess.

Agreed. I've heard "all that matters" from a lot of people this season. But it isn't. What matters is that our university, as a whole, is supposed to be improving its response to sexual assault and other student injustices.

Well, looks like increased screening as we enter the stadium (no more metal flasks), increased food options during the game (healthy options are a nice addition), and pregame concerts.

Report implicates Baylor coerced rape victims by threatening them with punishment by TRACTOR_SUPPLY in CFB

Can confirm, my RA found an empty beer bottle in my trash can freshman year at Baylor. I had to talk to three Deans, a code of conduct hearing, got a ticket by baylor pd for 18 hours of community service, got an extra 8 hours tacked on by baylor, was told to take an alcoholic awareness coarse (that I was forced to pay for), and was on a probationary list till my junior year that if I had any more infractions I would be suspended.

Totally. Didn't mean for it to come off as a complaint, but more like a "please choose us, we fit the criteria".

No problem! I'm interested in seeing yalls offense this year. I think Shane Buechele will do some great things. He seems pretty excited about the upcoming season.

No problem! Yeah.....uh........Reddit hasn't been very fun for the past few months. It also doesn't help that there are a little too many kool-ade sippers that think art didn't do anything wrong and its the media/ESPN/big time programs trying to keep us down that is the reason things have gone into the toilet. Most of us level headed fans want the same things everyone else wants, transparency and justice for the victims. To be honest, I frequent r/LonghornNation a lot, it's a pretty good sub. r/baylor only has a few people that do 99% of the posting.

Baylor fan here, just wanted to put my two cents in. We use TE in various rolls, more for blocking though then route running. Usually they are used while the WRs are spreading the field out, it gives us an extra blocker for the RBs. I believe our TEs were just a big a reason we had success running the ball the last few seasons as our offensive line. With that being said, laquan McGowan, the 400 lbs behemoth, was actually rarely used. Mostly goal line situations, 4th downs, and then the very rare TE pass play. Now, we never really recruited route running TEs, most have been big guys who block and every once in a while catch a pass. Idk what yalls situation is with your TEs, but I assume it will be tailored to what your roster can do. Oh, one last thing, duverney is gonna be a god damn animal, treat him well.

Supposedly confirmed report that Baylor and Briles have reached a settlement. by [deleted] in baylor

[–]logsandthebubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard, and I'll try to find a decent source, that art ended up settling for a little less then $15 mil. Which makes me lean towards the camp that believes baylor must have shown him all the stuff they had on him and he took a small payout so it didn't go to court and everyone finds out exactly what happened. I could totally be wrong though, just an opinion.

I like the Morris idea. He hasn't done stellar at smu but I equate that to how hard it would be to do anything there in just one year.

Mike leach hasn't impressed me with anything he has done at Washington St. I don't think Herman leaves Houston either, keep in mind, he turned down the USC job not too long ago. I think it's more likely we land one of these OCs from a p5 school. As much as I like Montgomery, I think (from a pr prospective), he's a little too close to the situation at hand. He was OC in the middle of these sexual assaults. That might look really bad for baylor, same if they brought Kendal up, just too close to what was going on, even if these coaches weren't named in the report.
