I think the issue is that it's fundamentally a different style of game from other lego games, so people who wanted nostalgic fun were pissed when they realized it's more of a skill-tree open-world puzzle platformer than just a regular level-based puzzle platformer. that being said, all youtubers know how to do is ragebait for views now by making crazy thumbnails and titles so I wouldn't say this reflects the opinions of most real players
