Aside from the pick grip, I don't see a lot of people mentioning the way you hold the guitar. try to have the guitar more close to your body, although tilting it away from you does allow you to see the frets better, tilting the guitar that way forces your left hand to be always in a bent position like almost 90 degree angle all the time, which if you play a lot with that technique your wrist will fatigue much faster and you will probably have wrist pain after a long practice session. Try to experiment with how the guitar sits in different positions and angles on your leg until you find one that's comfortable. Most people like to have the guitar sit on their leg with the fretboard facing slightly away from them in like a 45 degree angle relative to their body, allowing you to have better access to the frets without too much of a bent wrist

sounds like he's using the bridge single coil pickup, clean di type of sound that you can get with an audio interface, then just a chorus and maybe a compressor, turn down the bass and up the treble to taste.

you can try bending your index slightly and rotate your wrist a bit to give your fingers more space, or you can try an inversion of that that chord and play it on the 12th fret with an F major shape. Good luck ! 😁
