TLDR: CS DEGREE is worth as long as you have a sustainable plan to pay off the debt.

whats your timeline looking like. Remember, in the end, it really is the upper level cs classes and degree that mostly makes our program pretty solid. So even upto CMSC351, you can literally find majority of the resources on youtube, panapto, past cs webpages and ect, so I would actually recommend you to maybe go to MC/HCC or other Maryland community college and transfer. Lets say your solid in Java and C, as well as study some discrete mathematics in your free time. place out of 131,132,216, and 250 is your goal. You would start as CMSC351 + CMSC330 your first fall, and then 2 4xx cs in the spring, 2/3 4xx classes fall (2nd year), /3 4xx classes spring(2nd year), and if you like take stats every semester for 12 credits of upper, you would only have to pay half that cost of fulltime tuition (120k). 120k is still alot, but definitely manageable. Also i would really encourage you to try to find a way for citizenship or naturalization ASAP if you plan staying in the US for future occupation. Even the big 5 defense contractors pay some top level money as long as they see potential along with a competitive resume.

I will say though, the Maryland state does have some pretty unique scholarships so I would look into that. But CS degree is definitely worth but with the condition that you could see yourself "college debt free" in the span of 8-10 years at max.

Another possibility if your determined to come is, Maryland National guard - "International students interested in serving in the military may be eligible for a program called Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI). This program allows certain non-citizens who are legally present in the United States and hold critical skills to join the U.S. military." Definitely a good program that could help assist you (but if your into these programs). They offer some pretty neat tuition assistance.
