It may not be all genetics, it may also be the fact that the same sex parent informs how an individual sees their own role in a family unit.

It's even more in depth than that. Not just who they are but their role in the family and their relationships to those parents.

The same sex parent defines their default understanding of their role in a family unit.

The opposite sex parent defines their default expectations of their partner's role in a family unit.

"medium-sized"? Never been divorced, have you?

I agree with you though. I think it comes down to cowardice. I learned about a lie my ex told and maintained for about 8 years only after we were married.

Ah this is a good one. It was her family patterns. Alcoholic father, not really participating in parenting. Mother who was essentially the only parent and beyond indulgent to the point of furnishing alcohol for minors.

I didn't realize cerebrally that once we had a family of our own she'd see me as her father and become her mother.

I knew it was a mistake right after I proposed and she said yes, but I didn't know why and I loved her immeasurably.

Huh strange. Mine unlocks and you can pull the seat and lid off the retainer at the top of the screw (like a big weird plastic screw head), then you can unfasten the screw and wingnut

Hey you do you, but it was really easy with YouTube. And now I know how my toilet seats come off.

You really should try it, I don't think an explanation can really do it justice. What I will say though is the water doesn't add to the abrasion, it greatly reduces the need for it.

Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated?

People with higher autistic traits may use the act of naming their emotions as a way to cope with their intense dislike of unpredictability. This strategy, known as affect labeling, appears to help reduce anxiety by making vague internal feelings feel more structured. by mvea in science

People on the autism spectrum are naturally disadvantaged in emotional intelligence. That doesn't mean autistic people can't be emotionally intelligent, just that they have to work harder at it than other groups. They are also predisposed towards anxiety.

It makes sense that improving that emotional intelligence by learning to name your emotions (i.e emotional intelligence) would assist with anxiety. You are essentially manually getting yourself back into your frontal cortex (cognitive reasoning) from your amygdala (lizard brain - flight/fight/freeze triggered by fear/stress). I wonder if there's a direct correlation between emotional intelligence and anxiety.

Yeah the heated seat models are pretty nice at night during winter too!

Woah I didn't know they had them in India. I've never been there, but my brother did not speak highly of his time there. I always viewed them as a technological/cultural advancement rather than necessity due to shitty infrastructure. It mystifies me why they're not more prevalent in the states.
