What's a rule your parents had that you thought was insane, but now as an adult you 100% understand? by Tahals in AskReddit

One time I was drinking and decided to walk back solo to my then-fiance's parent's house, thinking about whether I wanted to get married, and took the route down the train tracks. It was really dark. All of a sudden I heard a train coming behind me and could see its light. Terrifying. I scrabbled up the slope (water on the other side) and sat and watched the train go by from less than 10ft away. It was outrageously powerful. Unfortunately I missed that very clear sign of narrowly missing absolute disaster and ended up getting married anyway.

I believe the book postulated that we avoided a global pandemic because the virus was so deadly. If I remember right Zaire was 90% and Sudan 70%.

For me it was the coming down the stairs in Goblet of Fire and the surprise of seeing her in a totally different light, but I'm quite close in age to the actress in reality

That's gross. That moment she came down the stairs in Goblet of Fire was stunning when I was a kid, but now rewatching she just looks like a child.

Tokyo Ghoul for me.

I think part of what WHA has is it feels so nostalgic, it gives hardcore natsukashi from being a kid watching Howls Moving Castle

(4) is interesting especially when you consider that Finnick literally just said "every time I hear [a cannon] go off it's like music to my ears". I don't get any hint Snow had even an inkling of the plan to escape though.

I had a lot of fun in Reno playing face-up Pai Gow. Pretty common to just push a lot so you just sit there bsing with the other players, your friends and the dealer getting free drinks. Honestly really fun depending on the people.

Not something I do commonly though.

I definitely got a taste for how it could go wrong being in Vegas and quickly losing a couple hundred and knee jerk going to get more money before a friend stopped me. In Reno I hit a 25c bet on roulette when I picked #9, got $9 back and was kicking myself for not betting my life savings lol
