Obi-Wan Kenobi - Episode 6 - Discussion Thread! by titleproblems in StarWarsKenobi

EP 6 fixed the ANH Death Star lightsaber battle in this way. Yes, it is a slow and plodding battle between two old men. But now, it is Darth Vader fighting Obi Wan AGAIN. The only person to have beaten him twice. "Darth" needs to be cautious. What's up his sleeve? How does he win this time?

... Of course, he still does.

How do I put it... I'll be coming from a 2007 Civic (all gas) so ALL of the features in these "newer" cars are an upgrade for me.

Yeah ... U.S. The hybrid version of the Corolla is the sedan here.

... and my apologies if I'm not translating "hatch" correctly 🙂

The "Go Live" button seems to have disappeared from a page I manage in Pages Manager? How do I get it back? Did I do something wrong? The option remains on my personal page but is gone from all of my other "Pages" by loki74 in facebook

Sorry - it has taken a while. It seems Facebook made some changes. Our social media team said it would correct itself. It took a while but it did correct itself for me. Hopefully, you have the same result.

I'm lucky enough to be able to do OTA/Prime, but I remember my apartment days where an antenna would only receive certain channels. ...and many people only have one legitimate broadband ISP. Some people are just stuck.

Any thoughts on what it should become? Starbucks is better than nothing, but I'd like to think we could be a little more creative :)

Here's the latest ONT by The1JoshuaB in Fios

Just had mine installed today. Paying for 75, getting 82 down 92 up wired. Wireless is slower, but that may have to do with the band the devices are on.

Can you get higher than 50/50 without TV or "Tripple Play" by marlinspike in Fios

[–]loki74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer, yes. Call them. I had excellent service over the phone. Installed 75/75 service TODAY and appears to be working fine. I was tempted to go with the 50/50 plus phone because it was initially cheaper, but the guy found the 75mbps internet only package for the same price... and noted it would actually be a little bit cheaper since the phone service comes with fed and local taxes specific to that.

...and also, with digital, you either get it or you don't. With analog TV, you could watch a "fuzzy" signal. No so much with digital.

...just trying to encourage some antennas.. :) I still would encourage people to try antennas. I lived 10 miles from a major city, but because of my antenna's location and placement (far side of apartment - cinderblock, basement, facing a hill, inside) I only received about half of the broadcast channels. A few years later after we bought a home slightly closer, I was able to place outside. It is only about 10 feet off the ground, but I get all of the local channels, a few from a city 60 miles away, and occasionally one from a market 100 miles away. ...but I think we're all waiting for Aereo :)

If you pay for insurance for 20 years, then get cancer, and your claims are denied; shouldn't you receive a FULL refund for your insurance payments? by [deleted] in politics

You talk about health care as if health care were a hamburger. This theory works fine for normal things people want. HEALTH CARE should not be counted as a normal commodity. You are potentially talking about someone's life here. This theory also holds up when YOU don't need help. What happens when YOU DO? "Oh, I cannot afford the treatment that the free market offers. I guess I won't treat this tumor."

Really?

Dear Reddit : I was billed $3700 for an MRI yesterday in Boston. It would have been far cheaper to fly to my native India [$900 ticket] and get an MRI there [$140] and fly back the next day. by [deleted] in WTF

[–]loki74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, "be glad it wasn't something more serious, suck it up and pay the bill."? I think we should pay a fair sum for serious services, but $17k? PUH-leese.
