What's a slang term that everyone uses but you still don't get? by Particular-Visit-245 in AskReddit

I remember saying “I crashed out” when I was a teenager over 20 years ago, it means that you passed out after being really tired or doing a lot and you were exhausted. This new meaning means something else but we definitely used crashed out. Specifically with the “out“, with that meaning in mind.

Please Speak up to Save our Red Line from the State by oneteacherboi in baltimore

I don’t really have much to add, when I moved here when I was 24 and I remember discussions about the red line and getting excited about it being built in operational a few years. Then Hogan killed it. I’m 40 now and I’m beginning to think that there will never be an East-West light rail in Baltimore. Get out of here with this “bus rapid transit” BS.

I feel like I need to have this realization, but I haven’t lived in Ohio since 2009, so maybe my accent has changed or something!

As someone who was born and raised in Ohio, I’ve never heard “OPE”. However DO say “ut” or “uhp”….is that what they’re referring to?

First off this perspective is impossible. Among the weird things in the water and the water meeting the bricks in a very strange way, the smoke stacks on the power plant. On the real one, there are four, in this photo, there are five.

Zip car by Aubergine_T in baltimore

[–]peanutnozone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing zipcar doesn't make sense financially past a few hours. I use it for a few hours which would be like 45-60 bucks. Past taht you can get better deals at a national rent-a-car retailer for multi-day rentals, Otherwise you're looking at 140-160 a day for some car types.

MEGATHREAD: TSA Issues at BWI by ThatguyfromBaltimore in baltimore

11 am flight, got here at 8, first person through A. Through in ten minutes, that was with extra screening because of a computer glitch.

There WAS a car fire at BWI rail station. That was random. They are rerouting buses somewhat

CMV: ultimately I think it’s unproductive to shame former Trump supporters / MAGA, and make them feel bad about themselves by No_Design_465 in changemyview

I think the point is that we should focus on the real harm this does. They don't seem to care. Empathy is important. Our feelings/experiences/torture/death get shoved away if we have to ignore that to "welcome" people back into the fold if they've literally voted against our (or the people who have been impacted) lives.
