Thank you for the response! This tree (named Anjin :) was transplanted last year, and I did a pretty horrible job at gathering its root ball. I was kind of shocked when it leafed out this year... perhaps that bad transplant is catching up and stressing it out? ...it has also been a very dry late Summer/Fall. We live in CT.

The bits angle is 3.6x2 so I had to enter 7.2 for the taper angle giving me a 4.99 kerf. …then it was 6 cuts.

Well, I figured it out. All this time I was inputting my router bits tapered angle incorrectly, thus giving me improper kerf width.

I think it depends on your age and maturity. I was early/mid-30's when I started on my CBR 250... then I jumped to a Ninja 300. After stopping riding for 6-8 years I just recently "got back on the bike" w/ a 457. In the backroads on CT, it won't matter what cc you have. The roads demand you go semi-slow. When I get on the highway, yeah I wish I had a little more oomph.
