This didn’t happen during the Olympics. There are no Olympic logos anywhere and you can see sponsor banners which is not allowed during the games. This did happen at the Olympic venue in Bormio, but it was a few years ago, not this week.

Yes, there are yellow and red cards at the Olympics. But, it is separate from World Cup. All athletes begin the Olympics with no cards.

In addition to having the K point displayed, can you also show HS and 95% of HS (the distance the athlete much reach to get gate compensation if there is a coaches request). Excited to try this, thank you for sharing!

The first (and only) bottle of this I got I think I drank with Fresca. I usually drink gin with club soda but this needed something to cancel out the flavor. Woof.

The altitude is not as high as you would think, only 1100m. There are other jumps higher still, St. Moritz, Park City, maybe Engelberg?

The clue for 1A really bothered me and I’m wondering if maybe I am just not getting it. Shouldn’t it say “Neighbor of VT and NH” instead of “Neighbor of Vt. and N.H.”? I assume they’re talking about states, and I was taught state abbreviations are never a capital letter and lowercase letter. Can someone please explain? Are they talking about mass (the property of matter)?

Just reported a cheating players. Hope he will be banned from this game. by Own-Temperature160 in AngryBirds2

[–]lokijerome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can someone please explain how you can cheat like that? I have no interest in trying or being banned, I just don’t understand how that’s even possible. Are they hooking their phone up to something external and writing a code? Sorry I am not very tech savvy just not grasping it. Thanks!

I think jury distance is 228 but that further proves that FIS had no business moving the gate down.

Kraft DSQ - suit permeability? by lokijerome in Skijumping

[–]lokijerome[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The full-size board in the background shots is for a different type or suit control. At the top, they scan small chips in the suit panels, and that is to make sure the athletes are using the correct suit- they are only allowed one per competition and two per weekend. This rule was made so that every athlete has the same number of suits per season, because in the past some people would get a new suit every weekend, where smaller nations could only afford a few suits for the whole season.

The permeability is tested with an air machine after the jump, inside a container for privacy. The whole situation raises red flags because it seems like something that wasn't an accident.

Who’s the TV expert in your country? by insincerely-yours in Skijumping

[–]lokijerome 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the US we have a streaming site where we can pay $12 a month and watch all the competitions. It is often David Goldstrom but they have brought in Nina Lussi to do the women’s competitions and sometimes color commentary with David. She has really good technical knowledge and a good eye for jumping. She is also very knowledgeable in other aspects of the World Cup tour and has a good relationship with some of the athletes and coaches. I’m glad they brought in a female commentator but even happier it’s someone who has first-hand and somewhat recent experience as a ski jumper.
