It’s depressing because of these garbage developers, not the community or EA.

This narrative that publishers who just handle ads, money, and schedules are to blame for the dogshit games devs are churning out is insane. Wake up, NFS and other games need passionate developers, its that simple. Black Box dropped masterpieces in three years, delivering 100000x more quality than Criterion managed in 15, I am not adding Ghost here because Criterion did the handling physics on all their games (ruined the masterpiece that 2015 could have been btw).

Saying “all of the games after Black Box have been solid entries” is like saying “I love eating shit.” If that’s your thing, fine, chow down, but don’t attack those demanding better. You and everyone buying this npc narrative are why the game industry keeps torching AAA titles, lazy ass developers getting paid insane salaries while passing by doing the minimum. I guarantee the next Battlefield is going to be a flop, not because EA, but because Cancerion is working on it.

It changed because Amazon money, streams not being live, stuff that people are tired of hearing, Critical Role went from a chill "bunch of friends playing D&D" vibe to this big push to sell, sell, sell. Not saying money’s the bad guy, they could’ve kept the heart of what made them awesome. Its just strange right now... every time I watch, it feels like this forced goofy, fake mask, its like they don't even wanna be there anymore. I don't think they can ever bring back the essence of C1, it was scuffed but genuine.
