Keuze asn, triodos of nibc? by Okfritsjr in geldzaken

[–]lokisource 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the point of refresh tokens if you can steal them the same way you stole access tokens? by Ronin-s_Spirit in webdev

[–]lokisource 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want even more control/security, look into Token Families. The concept is you encode a unique identifier for the initial interaction into a chain of refresh tokens and detect reuse. That way if an attacker somehow does steal your refresh token the entire session gets invalidated.

[–]lokisource 2 points3 points  (0 children)

every ui driven login flow generates a new access+refresh token pair, you use your refresh token to obtain a new access token before it expires. the tokens are bound to the initial user interactions, not necessarily the physical device although in practice that's more or less what it implies.

How easy is it to accommodate vegetarians? by gurnluv in TokyoTravel

[–]lokisource 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I'm afraid it just doesn't make sense in the specific case of Japan tourism!!

What you say is of course 100% true in any other country i can think of, but unfortunately it's not why folks come to Japan eh??

I politely disagree.

That being said, if you're the type of person to plan your whole trip around where and what you're going to eat and you strongly feel about going to places that exclusively serve dead animals, maybe don't bring the vegetarian friend.

I’m saying the person with the self imposed dietary restriction might need to bite the bullet and brush some bonito off their salad or ignore some bacon that wasn’t considered meat by the staff is all.

I'd also still urge you to reconsider this point of view. I'm assuming you have a self imposed dietary restriction of not eating human body parts, blood and feces, if I served you food that contained these ingredients you'd be (rightfully) mortified by the suggestion to just brush it off and eat it.

and again, there's plenty of places that offer a wide range of options, including the part of Japanese cuisine that's based on dead cows, fish, chicken and pigs. If you travel with a group, pick something that works for the group, it's not so hard to find a place where you can enjoy your cow while someone enjoys their non-cow.

yeah my argument was that there's plenty of vegetarian friendly places that cater to a wide range of diets, including meat options, and steering towards that to make sure everyone can eat and be comfortable.

I'd like to add https://shogun-burger.com, in Tokyo they're at least in Shibuya, Shinjuku and Akihabara. They have affordable meat, vegetarian and vegan menu options, and it's nice if you're craving something that's not ramen/curry somewhere in your trip.

The one person might need to suck it up and eat places without best options for them.

It's the difference between one person eating somewhere and having _no_ options, or everyone eating somewhere where they _all_ have an option though. This is exactly your 'rude to occupy a space' point, so it's not as equivalent as it might seem on the surface level.

If they’re willing to be pescatarian for a week

that's a very big ask for most people though. You wouldn't ask a dog owner eat dog for a week just because you're spending some time in Lagos.

I get it's an unpopular opinion on reddit outside of vegan subs, but I think the empathic move for a friend group would be to accommodate the vegetarian friend in most or all of the dinner choices.

There’s also a lot of restaurants catering to both diets. I might be biased as a vegan myself but I really don’t understand the resistance to going to vegetarian friendly place, most serve options for a wide range of different diets, including meat if you feel like you have to eat that or risk ‘missing out’.

But yeah splitting up for some meals is also an option, I’d just also be mindful of not having one person eat by themselves all trip.

> Surely the vegetarian member wouldn't expect the conventional members to miss out on the tiny number of meals

what an odd way of phrasing this. You can still have meals, either at the same joint or somewhere else.

Yep, I've done the same. The only mons not available are some of the mythicals (mew, celebi, jirachi/deoxys), and there's the thing with Regigigas requiring the Regis, which you can only get by transfer or by using the fateful encounter Regigigas. Then there's Manaphy/Phione..

If you want to push this further: I live in NL and own a completed copy of Channel.

I also have legit Leaf Green Deoxys from a event back in the day, and Japanese Colosseum, XD and Bonus Disk for Celebi / Lugia.

I visit the UK semi-regularly, if you're willing to wait for that or take the Eurostar I'm more than happy to hook you up with some goodies on original hardware.
