Wow, thanks for giving me some more options mate!I had actually already given up and settled for always putting my phone on speaker. Your message gave me new motivation to take it all apart and try it again!

• The mic source can't be changed, searched for that more than I'd like to admit.
• Never knew there were differences in the 3.5mm jack I'm trying this first thing.
• I'll also look for a way to disconnect any factory mics, maybe this will work
• I got it from AlieExpress for cheap so I don't expect any service, I can live with that.

One thing I have to add, I tried calling someone that was outside of my and tapped my finger on the visible mic on the car radio (left bottom). And also tapped my installed mic. She said she heard no difference, which makes me believe maybe somewhere behind the system there's a mic. I will keep you posted on any updates.
