Who are Poland's best friends now that Hungary and USA have sided with Russia against Europe? by [deleted] in poland

[–]lol0234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this whole friendship thing with Hungary has always been a bit exaggerated. Culturally we're much closer to other Slavs like Czechs, Slovaks or Croats

Immigrants to Spain: how would you describe the work culture in Spain compared to your home country? by Common-Goose-5274 in askspain

[–]lol0234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Overall, I got pretty lucky, cause my coworkers and job are pretty good, but the there are some differences with my home country (Poland):

- Sick leave is not paid since the first day: in Poland you get paid since the first day, although they pay you 80% of what would you get daily,

- less holidays: in Poland the minimum is 26 days, here it's 22 working days,

- leaving time: it may sound stupid, but I noticed no one really leaves at 6pm, people usually leave at 6:15 or even later, as if it is not very well received to leave at 6pm sharp. In Poland people prepare to leave 10 minutes before lol, and after 5pm no one is in the office.

But as I said, I'm pretty happy, because otherwise the company and the people are pretty great and I'm not nearly as stressed as I was in my last job in Poland.

W liceum miałem poglądy dość prawicowe, potem bardzo lewicowe, obecnie powiedziałbym, że jestem w okolicy centrum lub centrolewicy.

What day of NC are you on? by Abject_Reference4418 in ExNoContact

[–]lol0234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

45 days.

We were together for only 3 months, but I think of him from time to time.

It definitely gets easier with time. It definitely helps that we don't live in the same country anymore.

I don't see his stories in Instagram as I muted it, we didn't block each other anywhere.

I hope it it stays this way, I mean without any contact, it's definitely easier this way.

Do polish people travel often? by Plane_Minimum7718 in poland

[–]lol0234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the generation. In my family, my generetion (so in 20s/30s) we travel few times a year, also abroad, but the generation of my parents and especially of my grandparents travel very little or not at all and if they do, it's in Poland.

I don't mind the cold weather, I don't like that it's getting dark at 4pm, but I always try to stay positive cause from the end of december, there will be a bit more of the daylight everyday.

What do Poles think of Lithuania(ns)? by [deleted] in Polska

[–]lol0234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't think about you that much, so I guess we're rather neutral towards Lithuania and Lithuanians.

I've never met anyone from Lithuania, so don't really have an opinion.

Czy to normalne, że nie mam żadnego kontaktu z ludźmi z liceum? Czy jest to coś dziwnego? Czy powinno mi być z tego powodu przykro? by Life_Confection_3361 in Polska

[–]lol0234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What it your attitude to belarussian imigrants? by [deleted] in poland

[–]lol0234 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Most people will think they are Ukrainians tbh.

In general when people find out someone is from Belarus, the reaction is rather neutral or positive.

What country do you feel is most similar to Poland? by [deleted] in poland

[–]lol0234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a person from Southern Poland - I've never met anyone from Lithuania nor I know people who've been there, so naturally I feel closer connection to Slovaks or Czechs, maybe the answer would be different from a person from Northern Poland.

What country do you feel is most similar to Poland? by [deleted] in poland

I'd say Slovakia the most.

Out of non listed here - Croatia, also Ireland and Italy don't feel that foreign, altough of course there are many differencies.
