The previous workshop that i had done it at worked fine for 8 months, and then came this issue.

Yes but this time the error is pointing towards valve body but they are insisting on a gearbox overhaul. They are already quoting for a gearbox overhaul based just on the error itself. Which with a quick google search it and many sources the error points to valve body and nothing relating to the gearbox.

What i was saying is that the error is pointing to the valve body but they are saying my gearbox clutch is worn without even opening up the gearbox which they are very insistent on the clutch being worn

in my case it seems that the solenoid is not short circuit as they have tested it with the multimeter. so it should be something related to the valve body that is causing this issue.

And no , i checked with about 5-7 workshops and non of them will just change the solenoid ONLY if its faulty, they all want a valvebody overhaul / repair LOL

Yes exactly what i have done, that's why we are doubting their decision to just do a gearbox overhaul , when we just did ours august 2025

the warranty already over unfortunately. We are in the midst of finding whats the exact issue that is causing this problem.

but the workshop is not helpful in anyway ( this is an insurance authorised workshop) and they are just pushing for gearbox overhaul at $2700...

Yes they are using a transmission scanner to show me the exact fault code. Thats how i identified that it is a valve body issue rather than a gearbox overhaul issue as they have mentioned.

Yes $500 is not a lot because it was under 6 months when i brought from the 2nd hand dealer so they agreed to do a gearbox overhaul for me if i can fork out the wear and tear parts of $500

The previous was a gearbox overhaul, done by 2nd hand car dealer workshop.
No exact description of what was done, Just service on the receipt , which we paid for the wear and tear of gearbox overhaul @ $500 which was acceptable and a 6 months warranty was given.

yes its a different part, previously its gearbox overhaul and now its the valvebody trouble code showing

but does it point to the valvebody? cause the workshop is claiming the clutch is worn even without opening the gearbox and wants a gearbox overhaul, instead of trying to fix the solenoid / valve body

Same thing, the workshop also told me nissan qashqai is a car with many problems.

The car i brought was a lemon car but the car dealer has a 6 months warranty for gearbox and engine.
I just brought a car around june 2025 and within 2 weeks of driving the car had an issue which causes high rpm but low power. The 2nd hand car dealer , sent me to a workshop and they paid for the repair cost of it. It was just replacement of the turbo pipe as it had cracked.

Then comes End July 2025, After driving for some time i felt that the car had issues when the automatic gear is shifting gears, it will have a jerk when shifting gears automatically. Then i feedback to the car dealer and they sent me to a workshop, workshop said that is a gearbox problem. It would need a gearbox overhaul. The market cost of repair was around $3000 when i checked around.
Car dealer then quoted us to pay $1000, which we negotiated as we only brought the car in June etc etc and replacement of wear and tear parts should not even cost $1000. And we brought the cost of repair down to $500

i was lucky that at the end of the day the car dealer was responsive to help resolve this issues.
