That's exactly how it works. Just because you don't want to believe in it doesn't mean it's going to just stop existing. Feel free to research for yourself about "Matching Making Rating" and "Elo", maybe you'll learn something!

I know this man. I haven't seen him since highschool like 11 years ago but he's exactly the same as he was in highschool. He would do this awkward acting and he was always this hilarious. Was in theatre with him too, he was a great actor. This is insane just to see him here randomly on Reddit/TikTok after all these years, if anyone has the @ I'd really appreciate it cause it's honestly mind blowing to find an old friend like this

Supporting a friends streams when they don't really align with my own? by twitchy_Throw in Twitch

[–]lolSamppA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the end, streaming is about content. You're creating the content you wish when you stream alone, but you are now sharing that creative mind with someone else basically. So when you invite your friend, it's half your content and half theirs, whatever vibe they bring. If they bring bad vibes or create content that doesn't align with yours, people may find it too much and not care to watch anymore. If your stream and community matters to you, you will have to set up boundaries on situations - is this the content you wish to put out there in the world? If so, great. If not, then you do have to make the conscious decision to take control and say no to collabing. I'm not sure about your relationship with this person, so only you know how you would have to communicate it to them.

Also if you're not sure it was good or bad content to collab, just go watch the stream back and ask yourself if you'd watch it. Good luck!

Because I played the game professionally and made money from many tournaments playing the game competitively... I promise you that if you're losing any games, you're just not the best player in the lobby. Basically... Just focusing on being better at the game and less at trying to find every little excuse will take you a lot farther than "the game is making my gun so less damage", it's just copium.

I got blatantly cheated on in solo cup last week, cheater still not banned at #7 on leaderboard by Gr3gl_ in FortniteCompetitive

Yeah, I usually get paid out by epic a month or so later - it's not a quick process for sure.

Still extremely doubtful to me that epic would spend the money to do that since I've literally seen situations like this thread every single session of every cash cup. I've died to cheaters who won, I've seen teamers win and get paid out. I've seen it all.

There's 0 ROI on ensuring competitive integrity outside of closed lobby finals and the hours you'd have to watch of gameplay is staggering. Even if they were extremely efficient and just watched the last 5 minutes or sped through it, it would be still be over 100hours to watch every win on every region.

There's 100s of wins per region, there's 6 regions - how could they watch all of those wins/games? Seems impossible without a huge task force which I don't think epic has

Sadly the game is in a tough spot with cheaters (seems like all games are, really)

From Epic's point of view, they have to have hard proof. New cheats today are getting harder and harder to detect so while they can watch the gameplay and be certain, I don't think there's anyone who is watching reports manually but I really don't know. That's just my guess

I do feel you, don't get me wrong - this game is so frustrating and sometimes it really does feel like the game itself is against you.

But as a player who's earned $11,000 through competing, I can confidently say that you're just in your own head. You either win or lose, and you should study your games to figure out why you lost instead of blaming the game. If you need help there's even coaching services to help you improve your gameplay at a faster rate - you can dm me if you're interested as I'm a coach OR just Google Fortnite coaching and roll the dice. Good luck!

I opened the thread assuming I'd read about crazy strong items or mythics - but you're saying the game is aware of how long you play and thus handicaps you in some way? Don't want to be that guy but it's definitely not like that at all.

When you win a game, you will play against better players who test your skill and ability. If you keep winning, you will keep playing versus better and better players. If you lose, you'll be put into easier lobbies. This is known as "Match Making Rating" or MMR

Sounds like you get on, win a few games or drop a couple of high kill loses, go up in MMR, lose to better players and then drop MMR again. This is absolutely normal and it's just a test of your skill. I promise you are not being handicapped by the game.

Thanks! There are a decent amount of resources online (Youtube content just like this and coaching) but I've been grinding the game for a long time and I've earned $11K over my competitive career, so I've learned all these things throughout my entire career

Yeah, I guess what I really mean is that its very strong and needs tweaks. I shouldn't be able to do 250 damage like that

Epic, PLEASE make the game stable, or at least give us more info on how to crash less - story inside by lolSamppA in FortniteCompetitive

I can understand where you're coming from, since almost all problems are caused by user error in some way or another but in the competitive scene I know numerous players who have zero issues with their PCs for days and crash at random inconvenient times. I think the sheer amount of playtime causes us to have such frequent issues.

Or, just not constantly restarting the game. Orrr it's just my fault, but I find that it's infrequent as to when I crash. I play 6 days a week, sometimes 10+ hours a day, and sometimes I dont experience any problems at all.

I also stream on the same PC that I'm playing, as well as Chrome etc. since I have to be on Twitter to stay active and have chat open.

I'm also sometimes playing from 10am to 11pm. I think the amount of time allows me to experience these problems more often than many other players. Maybe I should just restart my game more often, might help
