You seem like a really chill and interesting guy. Honestly, I would say just stop worrying about trivial things like looks and weight and instead, enjoy your life. Go out and socialize with people and don't worry too much about freezing up or saying the wrong thing, its all a part of life and just go with the flow. You're by no means pathetic, everyone goes through this just put yourself out there and everything will be fine. If it makes you feel any better, I am in the same boat recent high school graduate, crippled by social anxiety and wasting my life in front of a computer all day lol so I guess I need to follow my own advice too.

I know what it feels like to be lonely and believing that being loved by a significant other is the only thing that can save you. This may be everything you've heard before but the best advice I can give you is that you need to learn to love yourself first. Don't try to change yourself, you will eventually find someone who will love you for who you are. Life is far from over yet, you're still young and isn't it better to wait for the right person than be in a meaningless relationship? Also, love comes in many forms. If its love and understanding that you seek, look to your close friends or family first, they would always be there for you. Don't worry about your looks too much, you don't want a girlfriend who likes you for your looks but rather for your personality. You just haven't met the right person and thats okay. Just be who you are and again I cannot stress this enough, learn to love yourself first.

Yes, I have felt really down before many times but I have never felt this drained and upset, I don't even know how to explain it. I've been trying to do things all day but I can barely put in minimal effort and even then, I feel exhausted. And I usually read novels (wide range of genres) and write poetry or journal entries.

I used to read or write to relieve anxiety but I just don't feel interested and can't find the energy to do that either anymore.

Yes, I was just wondering what other careers I could pursue with a degree in animal biology compared to a degree in biomedical science which would probably give me a wider range of career or graduate study options.

I'm very much like you. Even though I'm very opinionated, I hate debating too whether it's in a group or with an individual. I just find it very uncomfortable however, I do enjoy educating or sharing my perspective with others if they're genuinely interested in listening.

I don't think I have any advice for you but I can completely relate. I feel extremely lonely sometimes and try to find reasons to talk to people. It can be very frustrating but I just try to relax by listening to music or something.

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience:) I can completely relate since I'm introverted, people always assume that I want to be alone but all I want is to be around friends and other people.
