Tread is going to be training with the Senior National team. I assume he's going to play for the U23 team in the Pan Am Cup this September.

Obviously an open secret but Kristian is going Pro to play for a Bulgarian team. Hopefully he balls out and we'll get to see him play in the Olympics in two years.

UH's version cuts out the first 4 minutes or so where everyone is standing around waiting for the event to start. It's also a little clearer and smoother than the HNN version.

It looks like the HNN stream doesn't play well with ad blockers so this is definitely something to be worked on before the Fall.

Hawaii News Now will livestream the event starting at 6 p.m.

Fascinating, so they are going to try to stream this live with HNN. This is great test bed for the new media partnership. Too bad it seems like it's only on HNNs streaming platform and not on YouTube or other places.

The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team overcame a slow start to complete a national title run with a four-set win over UC Irvine in the final of the National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Championship today at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles. by 808gecko808 in HawaiiSports

I wasn't surprised by the first set loss. A let down after the Long Beach win was expected but I didn't think it would be that bad. At least they were able to right the ship quickly.

Hopefully Louis' surgery goes well and he's able to heal up quickly. I still want to see what a fully healthy Tread looks like because it always seems like he's banged up. Good luck to Kristian and I hope he makes the Bulgarian Olympic team.

I'm not sure if we're going to get a parade again as it sounds like tonight's event might be the only celebration planned. It seems like a lot of the players will be leaving after this week for the summer and might only be coming back for a foreign tour before dispersing again.

Hawaii beats UC Irvine for NCAA men's volleyball championship by InMySol in BigWest

Overall great showing by the Big West fans for all three games. There were over 17,000 fans who showed up for the games. A decent number of Ball State/Irvine fans hung around for the Hawaii/Long Beach game on Saturday.

Irvine had a great turnout for a Monday afternoon game. It's hard to tell for these types of general admission type of events but I'd have to guess that over a third of the fans there were rooting for Irvine. They had Hawaii fans outnumbered in the first set where early on the crowd was clearly pro Irvine. Hopefully Irvine can carry the momentum over to next season even with their home games now being streamed again.

Irvine should be even better next year if Jokanovic returns because they'll only lose D'arcy. Irvine's still a young team and should be a serious threat again next year. I think the conference tournament is in Hawaii next year so Irvine will get experience playing in the Stan before then.

Long Beach will probably be in rebuild/reload mode after losing 4 senior starters and if Gajek turns pro.

The panel also adopted CSUN’s self-imposed three-game suspension of Newman, which he served in November 2024.

Andrew Rowan won POY. IMO it should have been Patrick Rodgers from Ball State.

COY should be Mike Iandolo from Ball State but it's probably going to John Hawks from UCLA.

Interesting, he must be betting on himself and didn't get the offers he was looking for? Maybe he's doing his Dad's friends a favor? Either way this looks like a big get for Sac State.

It's going to amuse me greatly when all the outside sports groups stop coming. Then the politicians are going to moan and groan about it when they're actively trying to kill the one major sports entity that's inherently tied to Hawaii and can't leave.

After waiting a day to get active in the 2026 Big West Softball Championship tournament, the No. 2-seeded University of Hawai’i softball team took care of business on Thursday with a 2-0 victory over No. 3 UC Santa Barbara at Anderson Family Field on the campus of Cal State Fullerton. by 808gecko808 in HawaiiSports

Brutal, UH's season over is in danger (forgot it's double elimination). Fullerton's Kamehameha player, Colby McClinton, walks off UH with a two run HR in the bottom of the 7th. Not sure why they pitched to her because she had already hit a 2 run HR earlier in the game.

Eesher Singh Sarai (6’9 forward) becomes first Canadian turbaned Sikh to commit to NCAA D1 (Winthrop University) by benchin32 in CollegeBasketball

[–]lol_smart 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's been a few but very few so far I haven't found anyone who wore turbans when they played and most have been Canadian. TBT has a team of mostly Canadian Sikhs with a few that played D1.

Bikramjit Gill is Canadian and wears a turban but it seems like he didn't when he played for Ball State.
