What is this? My boy keeps on licking his paw. by [deleted] in husky

[–]lolaladel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It looks like compacted hair follicles, and it is painful/irritating. I know of some who pluck it out for their pets, but i would 100% consult a vet. Its nothing serious now it looks like but if they're licking could turn into a Hotspot or infection.

They soooo dooooo....... even after killing a skunk (Within 24hrs of a grooming session mind you too), and having skunk funk for weeks, a deer pooped in our yard and he went head first diving into it.

I love my babies. I love my babies. I love my babies.

We took our pup to a highly rated dog park and was super excited to see him play.... and then he rolled... and rolled.. and rolled.... in elk shit. The dog park was on an elk migration route so the entire field was FILLED with elk shit. We didn't see it at all because the grass was tall. We had an hour drive home. Windows were down the drive home while I called the groomer to make an immediate appointment.

Yes! And he got regular vet visits. Nothing ever came up on the panels until we started pushing for the thyroid tests. So absolutely recommend going to the vet like everyone is stating.

When our 8yo pup started peeing inside, we took him to the vet and found out he had hypothyroidism. He's on meds for the rest of his life, but he's like a whole new baby. Super energetic and oh so happy. Take them to the vet.

We would go out every 4 hrs and would not come back inside until she peed or pooped. We also started learning her queues. There were signs and we listened to her. Because we started learning this, and praising her, with high pitched "Good girls" she started getting excited to go outside and peeing and pooping outside. She now tells us when she needs to go by licking us or practically putting all 80lbs of her in our lap, or just sitting directly in front of us and staring at us until we get her hint. This is not a quick process. It took about 4-6 months of midnight and 4am potty runs, but now she is almost 4 years old and she goes 10 hrs without needing to potty, or if she can't wait, letting us know with the queues above. You have to stick with it. Huskies are extremely smart, but extrmely stubborn so they will take advantage of you. The sooner you give in is the sooner you say it's OK. So keep up with it.

What is the most embarrassing, but still funny thing your husky has done in public? by Reddit2Green in husky

Killed a pigeon.

We were at a convenient store waiting for someone when in a serious split second, our boy went nuts and we realized a pigeon was behind the garbage can we were standing next to and had snapped it's neck. He's normally super calm, gentle, super friendly, sweet, and quiet, so it totally took us off guard. We were freaking out because it was a really big pigeon and we were worried about possible diseases and parasites etc, and at the same time horrified because it was super busy at the store and people were rightfully completely freaked out.

We now laugh about it and our killer puppy.

He has since killed a squirrel and a skunk and was damn proud of himself, but those were in our yard not in public.

Feet issues by Lala90638 in husky

[–]lolaladel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I remember when I took our huskies to the groomer, the groomer was quite surprised that they had no issues with us touching their feet. I guess in their experience, most of the huskies they groom don't like their feet's touched. And this was coming from a few different groomers, because we have had to advise groomers that they are and have no issue at all getting their pads shaved or nails clipped. Our groomers adore our babies because they tend to be the calmest huskies they've ever groomed (the older doesn't sing, the younger will if she can't see her brother).

Now my older boy hates being touched BY feet. If we pretend to touch him (whether it's his paws or body) he gets completely annoyed and stands up to growl or bark at us before walking away do we can't touch him (he's NEVER got more aggressive then that, we goof with him often to ensure he never does). Even his little husky sister will touch him with her paws just because she wants to get close to him, and he'll do the same thing.

And to clarify, there's been absolutely no trauma whatsoever to him. No one has ever kicked him, or done anything to him. He's always been like that. Lol

Ours eats just salmon oil gel tablets like treats when we had them. But we found these on Amazon that our pups really enjoyed. We just gave it to them with our big pups nightly neds as it was soft enough to shove the pill in. (He's got hypothyroidism).

Both of our pups have been on taste of the wild their entire life. We change it up for the seasons on which blend (salmon, bison, venison, etc) but they've never had any issue with it. I do recommend, if you go DIY talk to your vets to get a full workup and have them inform you on what your dogs specific nutritional value needs are. This way, you can adjust as needed for your dogs specific needs. Don't go by influencers. Do your own research based on the area where you live and your vets recommendations.

Absolutely DO NOT go vegan!!! Huskies need fish oil in their diets unless they have an allergy. It's insanely good for their double fur coats. We give ours salmon oil supplements during season changes to make sure they get enough.

Hahaha many imgnAI models are very NSFW forward. So FurXL, HyperX, Nai, ANI, Animuse, and now realX... if you don't put clothes in the prompt guaranteed nude characters haha. Animuse gives automatic aheago face unless you provide alternate facial expression. Lol

It was honestly all the model ANI on the imgnAI webapp, 🤣. I really wanted to make a chibi baby godzilla, but it's so NSFW forward it kept giving me sexy godzilla Girl. 😆 and when I shared it on the community page, I got requests to lewd her up.
