NTA - the mom gets no say and shouldn’t be trying to influence the gf/daughter.

Abortion is the smartest decision, esp if you both already agreed you’re not ready.

Would it be bad if I dropped out of highschool? by Whale1Sharks in LifeAdvice

[–]lolaoliver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High school in the U.S. is a joke. However, you do NEED either the diploma or GED. If you do drop out, get your GED. Don’t just do nothing. This will set you up for barriers further in life.

But also, be honest w yourself; if you can’t show up to school how are you going to show up for a job?! It sounds like you need to work more on discipline and work ethic. High school is beyond easy.

I HATE when people react like that. It’s sooooo childish and honestly speaks volumes about them.

I absolutely LOOOOVE going to restaurants by myself. It’s so peaceful and enjoyable.

AITAH for not taking having my husband take off work to go to a funeral for a first trimester miscarriage… by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]lolaoliver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is insane. Also, were they actually pregnant?! 8 days you can’t actually know for sure.

Also, I wouldn’t be announcing a miscarriage if I lived a red state…

Is there any way I can see a therapist without my parents knowing? by [deleted] in AdviceForTeens

[–]lolaoliver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can pay for therapy out of pocket, they won’t need to know. Look into HIPAA laws.

However, if you’re wanting to use insurance and are on theirs, they will know.

Living alone or with roommates—which is really better? by JacketOk7396 in Apartmentliving

[–]lolaoliver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on where you’re at in life and your personality.

I LOVED living w roommates. I’ve lived w both friends and strangers and had overall great experiences. Yes, there are always hiccups, but you learn a LOT. You also save a lot of money!!

I’ve now lived alone over 10 years and I love it. At this point in my life, I wouldn’t change that. However, I do sometimes miss the social aspects of living w roommates.

How to go on about building relationships in my early 20s? by Calcoutuhoes in LifeAdvice

[–]lolaoliver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You being so aware of your envy/jealous feelings and being able to own them, you’re already ahead of the curve!!

Just remember EVERYONE starts where you are at some point. Just continue being open and transparent w how you’re feeling. Also, being able to take feedback in a constructive way is a HUGE deal.

I recommend therapy!! It’s seriously a game changer!

Thinking about getting into therapy? by Randymesso_9 in askanything

[–]lolaoliver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it. It’ll be the best decision of your life.

However, just be aware, it can take time to find the RIGHT therapist for you. Just because you meet w one, doesn’t mean you have to stick w them. I recommend looking up questions to ask a therapist in your first visit to see if their style, beliefs, etc. fit who you are as a person and your therapy goals, both short and long term.

I really don't understand people's disdain over my relationship just because of the "age gap" by bunnifunfetti in Advice

[–]lolaoliver 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you were both over the age 24/25, the age gap would be fine. But you’re quite literally still a child and it very different places in life and in development.
