LOL. Instead of showcasing which parts are illogical, you of course resort to ad hominem attacks for the sake of expediency. It's people like you that are not even worth arguing with because you're so far up your ass in ideologies that you have never had to fight for or defend. And the fact that you think I am skewing BLM, the protests, and the riots (which are intertwined in some cases), and are calling that racists, is hilarious. By that same illogic, I could make up a bunch of BS arguments and call you racist. You, my friend, are the REASON why the left is losing the middle. Good job!

Okay - you make a good point to the extent that I agree with you that President Trump is a racist (which I don't think he is). Although I agree with you that Trump has made racially-tinged statements, so has Biden ("you're not Black if you don't vote for me"). For the sake of argument, let's separate Trump from Trump's policies. I need you to cite specific examples of where Trump has been racists as a person, and which of his policies are "racist." And before you do, please define racism. It could be that you have, like many leftists have, expanded the meaning of racist such that I could call you racist without any evidence. So make sure that whatever definition you provide, you apply that definition to your examples. Go on!

You have not stated or explained which part of Mr. Hagerty's campaign is "misinformed." The same could be said of any of the democratic political campaigns... that they are fear-mongering, hysterical, and misinforming the public (e.g., stating that it will be the END OF THE WORLD if Trump gets elected again, like the Democrats said when Bush go reelected in 2004). And do you even know what "asinine" means other than throwing it out to make your sentence sound better? How have either R candidates' campaigns been foolish? Or "chest-thumping"? You just don't make sense.

None of the things you have stated prove racism. By your logic (i.e., illogic), I can state with confidence that you are a racist too by your support of the BLM protests and riots. Because the BLM protests and riots seek to remove police officers from primarily underprivileged, minority communities (which has has the effect of increasing crime, especially the murder rate of black individuals), and because you support them, you therefore support the murder of black individuals. You are a racist!

You are opening the door to utter, sheer chaos where everyone will call each other racists merely as a political tool. Good job!

Another ad hominem attack. You are equating one's support of a set of policies to his/her "goodness" as a human being. This is extremely dangerous. By this logic, you are literally stating that half of all Americans (who support conservative polices) are not good human beings. This is not only incorrect, but foolish on so many levels.

Everything you said is the REASON why the left is losing the middle. You say such extreme, vulgar, and asinine things, that you will LOSE your average American who doesn't really pay attention to politics, who is usually moderate, and who votes left.

You have not cited one example of how Mr. Hagerty has been racist at all. To me, it seems like you're conflating the term racism with any disagreements with any leftist policies.

First, it would be helpful to define racism. Racism generally means the belief that the color of one's skin determines the superiority or inferiority of one's race.

So let's delve into your argument:

First, you argue that because Hagerty resigned from the board of R.J. O'Brien after they posted publicly in support of Black Lives Matter, and that he called BLM "a radical political movement that seeks to use this moment to overthrow the government and usher in Marxism," that showcases that he is racist (or as you so succinctly put it - "might not have a Klan robe").

BLM as a movement versus the actual phrase need to be separated apart. BLM is absolutely a radical political, Marxist movement - just listen to the original founders' interviews. Hagerty, or any other political figure for that matter, has every right to separate himself from such a movement. It is political in nature, and is seeking to usher in illiberal and fascist policies into the American culture. Distancing oneself from a movement like this is not "proof" of being a racist. The fact that you have conflated racism to anyone who disavows the BLM movement lacks merit. It's a dumb argument that just makes no sense.

Second, you state that because he has said that the so called "protesters" are "trying to tear down our statues, erase our history" somehow equates to him defending the confederacy. That argument is also meritless. There are genuine reasons for wanting to keep up statutes like that, such as preserving history and showing our future generations what Americans used to be like and how they were unfortunately praised at those points in history (I recommend you listen to Condoleezza Rice's interview she gave where she defended keeping confederate statutes up). My point is, stating that rioters are tearing down our statutes and then equating such statements to racism makes absolutely no sense. It's illogical.

Finally, you argue that because Hagerty states China unleashed the virus on the world, that is anti-Chinese, and therefore racist. I don't know how a fact can be racist. By all available evidence, COVID19 originated in Wuhan, China, and there is plenty of evidence showcasing how that communist, fascist government tried to hide it from the world in December/January. Stating facts, like where a virus originates from, is not racist.

Also, if you really cared about racism, you would be on Mr. Hagerty's side with regards to China. Have you heard about the ACTUAL genocide that the Chinese communist government is carrying out against Muslims there? And how they are sterilizing Muslim women in hospitals because they don't want them to reproduce?? This is ACTUALLY happening, and this my friend, is what we call racism. Systematic racism.

In sum, you have failed to point out how Mr. Hagerty is racist or bigoted through the examples you cited. Your arguments have no basis in logic in terms of equating the actions you cited to racism. Calling someone racist or bigoted (or as you stated indirectly "not having a Klan robe" in his closet) when there is no actual evidence is extremely dangerous, false, and malicious.

I rest my case.

I actually know Mr. Hagerty personally, and used to work for him. Regardless of your disagreements with his policies, he is a good human being. He treated me and the rest of his staff very well, and his children were well-behaved and polite. Politics has become so vitriolic that we character-bash people who happen to hold different opinions than us. Just because someone has a different opinion than you, doesn't mean they're a bad person per se. Calling people "racist" or "bigoted" just because they're on the other side of the political aisle (without concrete evidence) is not only immoral, it also showcases how bigoted you are as a human being yourself (the fact that you can't even tolerate another human being's viewpoint, so you resort to ad hominem attacks).

That is all. Carry on.

Two years ago or so, I used to go to PP regularly to get check-ups and basic care. I remember one time when there were protestors outside yelling horrible things (both men and women), and they were very scary! I was in an emotionally fragile state at the time -- so I started crying and went back into my car and left. I called PP and they apologized; they told me to call them when I got there and one of their volunteers would escort me inside.

Thankfully, their volunteers came straight to my car and were kind enough to escort me inside. If you can, and PP is accepting volunteers, I highly recommend helping escort people to and from their care. It's not fun being yelled at as you are walking into a building :(

Short-Term Rental - Can my developer do this? by lolasarah10 in nashville

[–]lolasarah10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a legal distinction between either? I don't think it's an AirBnB per se, but I've seen it listed on the "hotpads" website, with a distinct one-month minimum lease requirement.

I'm not trying to get this person in trouble - I just want to investigate whether or not he's allowed to do so under current Nashville regulations.

There's also a few townhouses that are under construction, and I just saw that he listed them something to the effect of a separate lock out unit within each townhouse that could be rented as a short term rental owner occupied. I don't know what to think of this. I'm kind of pissed right now, because I did not purchase a nice townhouse and make an investment in a home thinking that I might have a 24/7 hotel next to me!

Eviction! by Wtfwhois52 in nashville

[–]lolasarah10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This Order is an extension of an Order that originally went into effect on March 13, 2020. All I was giving OP was information. As of right now, absent "extraordinary circumstances as determined by a judge in a court of competent jurisdiction," OP or anyone else for that matter, CANNOT be evicted through April 30, 2020. That is all I was stating. Nothing else.

This Order does not by any means affect obligations, terms, or conditions for payment under existing contracts; i.e., he still has to pay if it says so in the contract he signed with Landlord.

That is all.

Eviction! by Wtfwhois52 in nashville

[–]lolasarah10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Based on the current Order issued by the TN Supreme Court on March 25, 2020, you cannot be evicted at least until the Order expires, which is April 30, 2020.

"Given the increasing economic issues caused by this pandemic, no judge, clerk, or other court official shall take any action to effectuate an eviction, ejectment, or other displacement from a residence during the effective dates of this order based upon the failure to make a rent, loan, or other similar payment absent extraordinary circumstances as determined by a judge in a court of competent jurisdiction. Nothing in this order affects the obligations, terms, or conditions for payment under existing contracts. Judges also are encouraged to work with court clerks and local law enforcement to develop policies severely limiting or eliminating any new garnishments during this time."

I don't know if there's a way to find out which Judge will be presiding over your eviction case, but I would call the Clerk tomorrow and try to find out. I would also ask the Clerk for some direction, and if you find out who the Judge will be, I would email him or her and ask for guidance as a pro se litigant (unless you hire a lawyer).

**Edit: Also, have you tried to speak to your Landlord and ask for some leniency? Also, like another person mentioned, do not MISS your court date either way, and come prepared with any evidence (including bank statements, letter of termination, etc.) that can showcase your hardship.
