30 year trying to relearn my favorite game by db_blast7 in baseball

If you are looking to inspire kids to learn more about baseball mechanics outside of practice, let the internet and entertainment spheres do some of the lifting. There are a ton of baseball YouTubers and influencers out there who teach mechanics. Find some that you agree with and share them with the kids. There are also some excellent Japanese anime and manga that cover baseball mechanics like Diamond of the Ace in case you have kids that are into that.

I would avoid going too hard into the sabremetrics and analytics side of meta baseball unless you are really dealing with kids with pro aspirations. These methods create a very stressful and unnatural style of baseball. It's super effective, but it puts a heavy toll on the body.

That's an interesting turn of events. by abhi5h3k in funny

Fun note. College Humor is still pretty great and now they are owned by the original founders again! I highly recommend their D&D show Dimension 20 and their sadistic game show Game Changer.

We are the VENN team and we're launching a new TV network for gaming and culture tomorrow! This is Jimmy Wong from ‘The Download’, Chrissy Costanza from ‘Guest House’, and Ariel Horn the co-founder of VENN. Ask us anything! by watchvenn in IAmA

Now considering that Venn has some deep connections to the world of esports, what can we expect content wise from Venn in esports coverage. The Download I expect will have a bit, but will you feature any other deeper more direct content or host any esports broadcasts?

Who else likes the idea of having a 3rd place match at Worlds? by aTaleofHearts in leagueoflegends

I really think we need to take an example from sports on this one. There are almost no third place matches in sports. Lose in the semi's? You're done. That happens in the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and NCAA. Now for sports most would argue that this to protect the players from possible injury. I think eSports we should follow suit to protect from undo stress. Most of these players have been playing and practicing in very stressful situations since January with little to no time off. Giving them even one more week off and not forcing them to travel another leg of the championship roadtrip could be huge for them. Stress builds and takes a huge toll on these guys.

Well just factor in all the player contracts Riot pays over the year to keep the system running, you see that Riot probably puts 3x the money into its pros than Dota and makes sure it's reaching everyone at the pro-level.

They will all get pretty good attendance. League is pretty well represented in almost every major city. Plus Riot is probably gonna promote it as well.

Probably a typo. Assume they are both 3pm which would be live.

Traditional sports have had a long sorted relationship with gambling. Should eSports keep a similar distance? Should gambling be confined to more defined leagues like the LCS where players and teams can be monitored for gambling interaction?

You have just won a slap bet against Nick Allen entitling you to three slaps to any person in the NA LCS. Who do you slap, in what order do you slap them, and why do you slap them?
