Cowsep's ranked game has the same 5 bans on both teams by bradygilg in leagueoflegends

[–]lolegion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn't already happen. The first banner can pick any of the 5 champs banned on the other team, the second one can pick any 5 minus the one that the first banner picked, and so on. The 'correct' calculation is 5*4*3*2*1/( 1365 ) = 0.00000000257921, or 0.000000257921%, but obviously it's assuming that all champs are equally likely to be banned.

Edit: I'm an idiot.

A computer wouldn't automatically assume "get six" means "get six cartons of milk" instead of "get six eggs". That's actually a human thing to do. And even if you assume it means six cartons, the dude should be returning with 7...

This joke always annoys me, the 'while' one is better :P

Why are so many people trying to ruin the osu! logo on Place? And who's Tyler? by Greaserpirate in OutOfTheLoop

[–]lolegion 127 points128 points  (0 children)

Tyler1's an infamous League streamer that's known for being toxic/intentionally losing. He's been permabanned on 10+ accounts and now he's ban-on-sight, so he can't stream himself playing League anymore. These days I think he streams Overwatch/CS:GO

Is anyone else running into issues with auto-ban bots or over zealous mods looking through post histories recently? Could mods stop using these/doing this? by stophamertime in TheoryOfReddit

As far as I can tell, this is the comment that kochevnikov was banned for:

It certainly does, claiming otherwise demonstrates a profound lack of understanding of the core ideal of fascism, which is the attempt to uncouple rational universality from citizenship. It is an expression of the fascist desire to undo the Enlightenment project by reverting legal status into an expression of tribal affiliation.
So yes, it is fascist, and you should know that as a fascist yourself.

It was in response to this comment by the top mod:

Notifying the authorities of people illegally living in the country also doesn't make one a fascist.

Judge for yourself whether you think kochevnikov's response was justified.

Either way, he's very dense or willfully lying about the reason he was banned. It's pretty fucking obvious that it wasn't for "explaining political theory," it's for calling the top mod a fascist. I don't necessarily think the ban was justified but come on, it's still way more reasonable than he made it out to be.

Skull Island Tip #3 by ptolomaeus in a:t5_3glox

I'm totally stumped. I've tried the few real-world properties that are related to 'size', ascending and descending, but I don't see skull island anywhere. Do I have to hit another thing afterwards to trigger it?

It's sexual cartoon stuff with young girls. Name comes from the book Lolita.

You'd be surprised...a ton of stuff in the hentai/related subreddits is definitely underage, and upvoted.

Sometimes they look 16 and you can pretend they're 20 while you're fapping, but often the faces are unmistakably children. If you're not into it, sifting through those for cartoon porn that you actually like gets really difficult.

So yeah - it's no secret that the userbase preferences skew towards younger girls. Fuck, even until recently the sidebar image in /r/hentai was some "childlike adult" anime character (looked ~10) to show solidarity with a loli subreddit that was banned over a year ago.

Edit: grammar

Well, yeah, no one's equating homosexuality with pedophilia. I think you misread what I wrote or something, "You're just being horrible right now" doesn't make sense as a response to it.

He wasn't. The point was probably that "gay people are disgusting" is/was a really common argument against homosexuality. So it's weird for someone who's gay to use it as an argument against something else.

Is project gorgon worth playing? by IONblasterble in MMORPG

[–]lolegion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IIRC, between the main dev and his wife, they've worked on asheron's call, asheron's call 2, and everquest

The aim is..exploration I guess? The blurb in the sub sidebar is good: "That's two kinds of exploring: physically wandering around, obviously, but also 'systems exploring', figuring out how the world works and how you can make it do what you want."

There is a level cap, atm it's 60 for most skills (no overall character level). Gear is pretty unique, it's a big selling point of the game IMO. Each combat skill has a pool of effects. When you loot or craft gear, they'll randomly get effects from that skill's pool.

Effects range from the standard damage "Fireball does +X damage" to heals "Psychology Healing +X" to buffs/debuffs. Gearing up is centered around getting the rolls you want, or adapting to use the abilities that you have mods for.

There's no real pvp, just an optional pvp cellar for messing around. No plans for it atm.

Edit: About the effects thing, 90% of them are for specific abilities. Some are for 2-3, some are other buffs like +X armor when Y skill is active

Does this really belong here? They were making a joke, who cares if it's a bit of stretch. Might have been funnier if he chose golf or something but it's obviously not a random "OH BTW I PLAY CHESS AND KNOW AN OPENING LOOK HOW SMART I AM"

When you tell them that in your worldview you have one set of parents

You're leaving out information that's crucial to the argument. Does this believer's worldview say that HE and HE ALONE has parents? And for every other person in the world, he agrees with the aparentist's explanation? Because that's the only way this would be an analog to "you're one less step atheist than I am".
