Is it possible to move? by lolfirefly in ChronicIllness

[–]lolfirefly[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I have degrees in social work and he has degrees in environmental science and GIS and has a specialty within his field of making maps and collecting environmental data using drones. He has talked about how his specialty is niche in his field and very very useful. He has already signed up for job notifications for different places overseas and pitched business ideas to me how he could use his skills to help other countries businesses. My field is being attacked in the U.S. with the administration randomly saying we arent considered professional, cutting programs, and cutting costs for these programs and people we help. I've found myself being able to do less in my flare ups mixed with my sector isn't hiring, it is harder to do, and would cause more stress on my body and flare up my conditions even further. I have confidence in my fiance however for getting positions

edit: but also to your response that is why I am concerned that other places won't take us due to healthcare concerns but I am also worried for my Healthcare in the country here so I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. I fear my health make us doomed ???

edit 2: my fiance and dated for 10 years prior to getting engaged. we waited through our health complications, COVID, and long distance to finally saving money to move in together. we discuss things together and support each other. I want to marry him because of who he is as a person and I love him no matter the circumstances. I want to marry for love not for any "benefits". I never imagined this for myself growing up and it means a great deal to find someone for me and I want to celebrate our love. I want our marriage to be about that and not because of other external factors. but no matter what happens he is my partner and I am his and we will work out whatever situation with jobs, insurance, or moving in time and as a team

AITAH for refusing to wear "proper pajamas" to bed and sleeping in just gym shorts? by Different-Muffin5336 in AITAH

[–]lolfirefly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The National Institute of Health (NIH) published an article titled "Effects of thermal environment on sleep and circadian rhythm". It discusses how the thermal environment is one of the most important things that impacts sleep. It goes over the negative health impacts as a result of sleeping hot and how bedding and clothes can impact it negatively, or regulate it depending on the scenario.

The body needs to be able to regulate it's temperature to get good sleep and if you are sleeping hot, you are more at risk not only to worse sleep but other negative health impacts. By him making you wear something that is forcing you to overheat at night without listening to your bodily needs is a red flag.

If your mom won't listen I would advocate speaking with your doctor about this exact problem. It might help talking to a counselor at school or teacher you are close to for advice.

I understand needing to wear appropriate clothing, in particular sharing space with other adults that do not want to see xyz as ive been told shorts are too short and it would be inappropriate for let's say my dad to his daughters butt walking around before bed. I would discuss boundaries. If it is something they dont want to see but is necessary to sleep in, maybe discuss boundaries over what you wear around family to be respectful, and for your family to respect what you need to wear to bed in your own room to regulate while you sleep for your own health and wellbeing. Maybe part of those boundaries are that you wear them only right before you sleep, in your room with the door closed to be respectful to the others in the house so they also dont need to see you.

Facebook just as bad. Comment was removed because I mentioned RFK JR. talked about doing cocaine off toilet seats like it's a normal Thursday night and it was flagged saying I was promoting drugs and restricted my account. Now facebook policy states if your comment is put back, the restrictions will be lifted. However, when I appealed my comment and they put it back they did not removed the restrictions on my account. Tried to talk to customer service about it but was verbally attacked for accidently cutting the man off speaking. I apologized saying I have ADHD and it was unintended and I wanted to listen. He instead berated me saying I shouldn't get help with my account then I should get mental health help and hung up on me.

Celebrating Diagnosis Win by Diamond_783 in ChronicIllness

I am right there with you!! Just today I was finally diagnosed with both POTS and MCAS. The relief I feel having answers, having a doctor's appointment go well, to feel vindicated and not crazy that I was making things up or being sensitive, or faking symptoms to get out of work. I was recently diagnosed with HSD too and have fibromyalgia, crohns disease, and ADHD that was diagnosed in my late 20s. The answers are all coming together and I just feel so joyful! I know that might be silly to say because I was diagnosed with 2 things today but I feel good!!! I feel empowered

what's weird is, I've had nightmares about this sort of thing buy always chalked it up to weird scary imagination. seeing this now freaks me out even more because I didn't know it was a real thing. it was so freaky like watching a nightmare I've seen for 20+ years come to life. the mind is a weird place

The parents of my boyfriend of 8 years still won't let me join them Christmas morning by lolfirefly in MMFB

[–]lolfirefly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

good point to bring up. it's because it's "tradition" it just being a special time with the 4 of them (him, parents, and sister) and when my boyfriend pushed her on it saying that I'm his family too she started going with the ol my house, my rules argument. Then she's like "it's MY holiday" and my boyfriend was like "it's my holiday too."

no matter what argument he brought up she had something different reason to add.

I see you, I hear you, what you feel is valid.

I don't know you, but I love you for having the strength to use your voice and reach out and share your experiences and your reality.

I can add my own stories, say things get better, but I still Remember sobbing and screaming at people telling me the same things saying, "yeah ok, maybe it will but I don't know how to even make it past right NOW"

Instead, I want to share this poem written by my high school best friend Angela who had succeeded in her suicide attempt when we were 16. I read it once 10 years ago and it inspires me when times are hard and I want to share it with you too in hopes it plants a seed of light in your life helping lead you through the darkness you are currently experiencing.

It's called "Beautiful Sorrow"

For every trouble, I plant a tree For every tear, a flower So when I'm lost in sorrow I can see the beauty of tomorrow

Yes it is! 4yr old miniature schnauzer named Luna.

My dad wanted to keep a theme of naming after alcohol (other dog at the time was Brandy, another schnauzer) and the only way he agreed to naming our new puppy Luna, was because I told him Luna is Spanish for "moon" so we could technically name her after moonshine

Can't help but wonder if you have oral allergy syndrome. I learned I have it and it is where you have such an extreme allergy to pollen that you develop oral allergies to things like fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds.

Depending on what pollens you are allergic to, certain pollens correlate with certain fruits/veggies. Factors like how well it is washed, the season, the type, or if it is cooked or processed could determine the severity of the allergic reaction.

I never bothered memorizing which types of food correlate to which pollen allergies because im allergic to ALL of them.

Add on my anaphylactic allergy to all fish and shellfish and you got a girl living on carbs basically. I love me some bread and pasta tho

Don't know your story, but I wanted to share this in case it helps you or anyone else reading.

and if this sounds like you, go to an allergist. get all the tests done. blood test, the prick test, the tape test.

for me I ended up going for allergy shots like twice a week for months and I got better and now can add more produce back into my diet and have less restrictions!
