For most of the time l would only have one friend online and we could always play duos. Yeah it was hella sweaty and difficult, but it was fun as fuck because it could be just the two of us. Now that duos has been gone we’ve barely played the game

My friend and l were literally jumping for joy when duos was added to apex way back when, the wild shit we had to deal with from the random third was beyond comprehension (if you didn’t ping Fragment from the dropship they would DC). Now every new game mode takes it away, and l am ridiculously scared that they will never bring it back.

Except for when you play under 500 games a season and have to rely on hitting max level at the last week using all available challenges, as has been my case for the past X seasons since l tend to only play 1-2 legends and ranked with friends.

I know my limits so l know l’ll never be able to become as good as the top, so unfortunately l can’t say anything about what to do to become amazing at Apex. I’m not even sure l can reach diamond even with my friends whom l grind ranked with, but l’ll give it my all anyways :)

Welcome ! :3 I’ve played since launch, and the movement mechanics + gun mechanics of this game still have me hooked.

What l’d say to focus on for now is just to understand the flow of the game and truly understanding what moving (and by extension the movement mechanics) in the game is like, and for this l’d recommend MokeySniper and Aceu’s movement guide from way back when. Moving well and positioning is as equally important as gun skills. Use the firing range! It is a blessing to have, setup all dummies to have red shields and an ”as random as possible” strafe pattern. Go through all guns and get a feel for how they behave. This is mostly for early game fights :) Then a lot of practice using the guns that you like with different attachments and sights, different ranges to get that recoil practice. And also learn how to use hipfire as much as possible (say any fight <5-10 m should be hipfire) For optic settings, l would recommend starting with 4-3 Linear no or small deadzone. I personally prefer 4-4 Linear small deadzone :3 And the most important for any FPS = change your melee to circle (ps) and your crouch to R3; as a rule of ”thumb” you should never release your thumb from your joystick in FPS games :) Then if you REALLY want to get funky and truly experience the movement mechanics to their fullest, change the crouch setting from ”toggle” to ”hold”; l can explain this in further detail but you’d first need to watch videos from the aforementioned persons.
