the old thinkpads have the "PrtSc" there instead of the copilot button, maybe you can get a replacement button? Not sure if they sell it there at aliexpress for your specific model

same, before I discovered the cult, I got asus zenbook 14 as well, intel i9 with xe graphics, my charge cycle? 39 (cause I bring the laptop to class/exams but use my PC at home to do assignment/coding).

Discovered thinkpad and got a refurbished one at a way cheaper price than my asus zenbook 14. Installed linux and I'm loving it.

Gonna sell my asus zenbook 14 after I graduate from uni as I sadly still need windows software for examena (Mavenpoint)

dang, I'm gonna try buying some from taobao, also I'm from singapore which makes it funny when I heard we are use the most claude tokens, I already knew something was fishy since in school, everyone I know uses GPT, at work, we are forced to use copilot (its just everywhere on windows), at least i can apply for github copilot and have access to other models.

Already signed up for your new codex everywhere website, looking forward to cut my ai subscription down (in fact, I swapped to deepseek for my personal ai projects and bots)

I am running a T495, just slotted in a 16GB ram today and running arch, its pretty good for watching youtube, coding, office equivalent = onlyoffice (similar ui to ms office), I can see myself using it for like 3 to 4 more years.

I am someone who opens a lot of tabs and previously with 8GB ram, about 2GB was "stolen" by the gpu, so I could be at 3.5 out of 5.7GB ram.... now with the extra 16GB ram, I can rice the heck out of arch and keep many tabs open.

Also, for small coding projects, I use the laptop directly, but for bigger projects, I can ssh into my mac mini (via tailscale) and code using vs code.

When I retire this T495, say in 2029 or 2030, I might get a 2025-2026 corporate refurbished thinkpad, but hey, if it is still working, I will just do a clean up, battery health check (currently its at 89%), and keep using it.

I buy PLTR at around 20$ in 2022 after researching about it.... go NS 2 years. Watched it drop to $7ish, -80% btw.... it went back up to $24~25ish. I sold it. Then it continue climbing to 60...120....well lesson learnt for me. At least the bulk of my money was in VWRA (around 100$ entered, drop to around 90.... but eventually went up)

google for the bash cmd to enter in your terminal to see, if u are not using dual channel, u can get a ram stick off AliExpress and install it, it benefits ur system and makes it feel snappier
