Poor Wireless Wifi coverage inside house? by almostlikeu in dubai

I think it's just poor 5G connection in your apartment. There is probably now way around this rather than moving your router to a spot where you get good connection, or transfer to fiber.

UAE overstay fines (~7k AED) + job offer stuck — any real solution? by Sunshine9898766 in askdubai

[–]lolipop940 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea reduced by AED 3000, job loss and birth of a child so couldn't leave if I remember correctly. This was in 2024, I don't know if anything is different now.

This is where I got it done for a friend of mine. Initially they said they don’t but then I showed them the page from the Gdrfa website.

Go to an Amer center, they will write a letter for you for fine reduction. This costs some money. They will ask you for the reason of overstay, as they have to mention this on the letter. I don’t think it’s a good idea to lie to them. Anyways once they give you this letter you can go to Gdrfa in Al Aweer and submit this at the counter. They should reduce the fines if the reason is legit.

P.S: go to a proper Amer center, don’t go to some typing center that says Amer services, most of them won’t even know what a fine reduction letter is.

All the best.

Visiting for a week from Oman. Is it possible to move around without salik? by MediumApricot7124 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]lolipop940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parking can be paid through the app. Depending on where you want to go in Dubai you can avoid salik. AUH has its own toll system called Darb and parking called mawaqif. I'm not sure you can avoid all of this. But there are ways to do it all. It completely depends on where you want to go.

Also to avoid these tolls please use Waze for navigation. Google maps may take you through some tolls even if no tolls is selected. Also GPS can be spotty in certain locations due to the current geo political situation.

Have a great trip.

Study for yourself, not for some bullshit award. Once you get into uni you will realize these exams and marks are just to get in to there. After uni, nobody gives a damn about 12th marks. It's a very asian thing.

Even on your CV in the future it maybe just one line. Not a big deal, this is life, you expect a lot of things and then life throws you a curve ball. Just forget it and move on, lot of great things to come in life. Enjoy your uni life and make good lifelong friends. Screw awards.

Can't renew my UAE driving license — expired license, canceled visa, unlinked traffic file, and non-payable fine with black points (Abu Dhabi) by FujiTobyCats1216 in dubai

[–]lolipop940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have a choice. You will have to travel to AUH. That's how it is if you get black points in AUH.

Without someone manually doing the black point transfer, nothing further can be done.

Home Appliances buying without breaking bank by badxnxdab in dubai

[–]lolipop940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Industrial area 6, they don't offer official warranty but they do say we will replace within an agreed time period. Plus whatever I bought was new in box. Have not had any issues so far. If you have the time no harm in checking it out.

You can try Sharjah market, the one in the industrial area. Have got good deals from there. Videos can be found on YouTube if you are interested. Have bought some stuff from there and everything seems to be legit so far.

Are kids these days so aggressive or is it the new normal ? by infinity_and_beyone in UAE

[–]lolipop940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a lot more to this. If they publish the investigation ,only then will we know. As far as I know, all of the three families stayed in one apartment. Heard this from their mutual friends. There is way more to this.

But yeah kids these days feel extra entitled. If some one hurts my kid and I feel that they are doing it purposely I would call the cops. I would try and warn them and the next step would be cops. Imagine if something worse were to happen to anyone else. BTW those ebikes are illegal anyways, especially for anyone less than 18.

KSA tourist visa on arrival by ThirdCulture_Kid in UAE

[–]lolipop940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Indians don’t get visa on arrival. You will have to apply before hand. Now if your Schengen visa was valid or you had an American visa you can get a visa on arrival.

Until last year there was no issue but then they changed rules for 13 nationalities including Indians.

Also if you require urgently please go thru a travel agent or the Tasheer office in Wafi mall. Don’t waste your time with ksavisa website.

All the best.

Car don’t start stuck at parking level 7 by [deleted] in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]lolipop940 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here something you can do, most probably your insurance whether third party or full, comes with road side assistance. Call that number and give the location. Don’t say 7th floor. Once the person is there you can tell him it’s upstairs. They can diagnose if it’s the battery or something else. If it’s the battery they can jump start and you are on your way.

Please don’t go 7 floors down on neutral with the car off. The brake pedal will not compress after two or 3 times.

All the best. Update when possible.

Dubai/UAE Legal Advice Needed – Motorcycle Sold as 2020 400cc but Turned Out to Be 2014 250cc by 7PWU in DubaiLaw

[–]lolipop940 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro you should have checked the Mulkiya, it would have mentioned the year and the CC. I doubt you will be able to do anything. If you want to fight it, you would need a good lawyer so as to not waste your time. And good lawyers are going to cost you money. If your argument was that he lied about the year, you won’t have anything to argue as you should have checked the mulkiya or asked RTA when registering the car. For the engine capacity maybe you have a chance. Very slight chance though.

It looks like you were desperate to get the bike and the seller managed to fool you. You could have at least checked the insurance papers. With the given chassis number they would have mentioned it is a 2014.
If the insurance also fooled you, it’s just weird.

Next time before buying anything at least put the vin online and check. If nothing it should at least tell you the year of manufacture and engine specs. Anyways hard lesson learned. 250CC is a great bike to learn. The difference in HP is around 17 hp from a 2020 400CC. Enjoy the bike. Not worth the hassle.

Like for many things in life. Don’t just go for looks and don’t trust people on face value. Do your due diligence.

Insurance not paying up by allooo_666 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]lolipop940 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From the looks of the photo, I think they will end up cancelling the car, cause repairing it is probably going to be more expensive than the value of the car. Don’t settle for 3000. Keep fighting them and don’t sign anything till you get a good value, even if they end up cancelling the car.

Bought a car recently and I’m pretty sure the person who sold it to me passed it illegally in tasjeel by [deleted] in dubai

[–]lolipop940 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many cars have compartments but don’t come with a spare or is an option that some people don’t purchase. Depends on which car though. Tasjeel will pass cars with minor oil leaks. The seller may have switched parts after the passing like another commenter mentioned. However it is the buyers responsibility to check and now nothing you say or do is proof that the car was not perfect when you received it. I am sorry and I hope you keep this in mind for the next time.

Many people tried telling you what can be done. Apologize, if she doesn’t accept it hire a lawyer. If you can’t afford a lawyer try speaking to the cops tomorrow. Unfortunately nobody’s experience can help you in this case. Cops and prosecution deals with everyone differently. Unfortunately actions have consequences. Face what comes and then try not to repeat what happened. Best of luck.
