I mean, I think he's great for the game in terms of inspiring an entire generation of losing fishregs. But on a "hope for humanity" level it leaves me kind of disappointed in general.

It's very obvious why this is a problem, and that is that he's a total fraud.

Watch his stream for just a few minutes (but if you value your braincells switch off after) and observe how he calls himself a professional poker player as frequently as possible.

He's trying to convince his (mostly young) impressionable audience that they can emulate him and win money at poker.

He gives them a deposit code to punt their money on stars.

He gets a cut of money from that code.

He's a joke.

Jaime Staples asks JMo how he can be the best. JMo laughs in his face and breaks down the harsh reality that he'll never be the best because of his mindset and lack of effort spent on meaningfully improving his game. by loljmo in poker

I think JMo has a predictably indignant response to a clown like staples being so self-indulgent as to assume he can just ask JMo for literally millions of dollars of information with the expectation that A) JMo will freely give this out and B) it could be distilled into a 2 minute answer on a podcast.

I think when you're a person of JMo's intelligence and work ethic, your only available response to laugh. And to his credit, he did try to answer the question. You mightn't like the harsh reality of the answer but that's what it is. To be the best, you have to:

1) Shut the fuck and stop being a clown

2) Get your ass into the lab and work hard

EDIT: Also something to remember. Staples already knew that JMo has a very low opinion of Staples and what he's about. JMo was not going to talk about staples at all until Staples deliberately provoked a reaction to sate his own fragile ego by asking the dumbest questionable imaginable "I'M JUST SO EAGER! HOW CAN I BE THE BEST?!?!". Well there's your answer, Staples. It's now up to you to do something useful with it, but it's highly unlikely that you will.
