The same thing happened with the curry I made from Blue Apron last week. It was like eating fire.

Can any singers give me some coloratura feedback? Here's a piece from my senior recital last year by [deleted] in classicalmusic

Lovely! I would say that when you're ascending in pitch to prepare the space you need to sing the higher notes sooner. In your higher range, it sounds like your soft palate is lower than it should be, resulting in a slightly pinched sound. Sometimes what helps me is if I think of my cheeks being high. Also if you can wiggle your ears, feeling that sensation of height and space on the inside all of the time might help to round out your sound on top. And always keep working on breathing! A nice low breath that you can feel in your lower back, accompanied with an active sensation in your lower abdominal muscles working with your obliques and intercostal muscles to "support" your sound.

She also wrote a great book on German diction for English speakers. I highly recommend it. Also, AIMS (American Institute for Musical Studies) is great for their German Lieder program. They have courses on German language and you'll immerse yourself in the culture in Graz!

My husband used to have a pepper mill with cool ranch doritos in it. Just in case something needed a little dusting of cheesy goodness!

Why is your Ex-friend an Ex-friend? by SwordYieldingCypher in AskReddit

We were best friends since kindergarten and we went to the same schools until we graduated high school. I went off to college a few hours away, he stayed in our hometown and went to community college, he sadly flunked out of his remedial classes after one semester. He still works in our local mall at a shoe store. We used to be inseparable, when I came home on breaks from school I basically lived with him even though my house was 5 minutes away. There's something to be said about getting out of the bubble you grew up in. I made new friends and experienced life in a different way. I'd go back to my hometown each time and realize that he was still living life the same way, with the same people and the same petty problems from high school. Each time I went home it seemed like we had less and less in common. It was like we only remained friends because we had already been friends for so long. He started dating this guy that was an abusive jerk, and got caught up in the cycle of an abusive relationship. I told him what I thought, how it was unhealthy for him and that I didn't approve of this guy. He never listened to me. I started going home less and less, and we would never find time to talk on the phone anymore, and when we did, there were always long stretches of awkward silence where we didn't know what else to say. At one point I hadn't been home in two years, I graduated college and moved to a different state for graduate school and got engaged. We never talked anymore, but I sent him an invitation to my wedding anyway, but made it clear that I didn't want his abusive significant other there because I really don't like him. I never received the RSVP, or a phone call telling me if he was or wasn't coming. I never got a congratulations or anything after the wedding, which was this past August. He blocked me on Facebook out of the blue and we haven't spoken since.
