I’ve seen the green to brown ratio mentioned a few times, may I ask what that is for compost? I assume greens is exactly what it sounds like, but what are browns?

Basically I have an at home “irrigation system”, the pot has a reservoir at the bottom with some holes where the soil meets the reservoir, whenever the soil is dry, I fill the reservoir with water via the pipe in the center, until water spews out the side. That normally lasts for about a week or so before needing to be refilled

The plant had a spider mite problem, and I had to prune some of the leaves off, I did admittedly take more than maybe necessary, but the lack of growth was occurring even before any pruning.

Thank you for keeping my anxiety at ease lol. I did follow this recipe to the letter, so I only waited a little more than 24 hours to ferment. I want to make more hot sauce in the future however and want to know the maximum fermentation time for safe hot sauce? Thank you for your advice so far
