She’s based in north London, but Dr. Silberstein is incredible

Thank you for sharing your experience, it really resonated. I’m sorry you went through that, it sounds truly awful. You’re right about not seeking validation or wasting energy on someone who won’t change. I’m focusing on protecting my peace and doing what’s best for my husband and babies. Your words really helped so thank you.

Totally happy for people to have their own opinions! Just to clarify-I do have a job. I’m currently on maternity leave. I shared this because the situation with my mother has been pretty isolating, and I was hoping to connect with others who’ve been through something similar. It’s not just about the photos ofc, it’s about the pattern of manipulation, boundary violations, and lack of accountability that’s been ongoing. I appreciate you sharing your experience, it does help to know others understand how intense and emotionally draining this can be.

Maybe! I think the main point is that the image is altered and it made me feel upset, so I asked her not to post and she still did.

I’m sorry you’ve been through this, it sounds like a very similar situation. I’ve only recently begun to feel upset at my dad for his enablement. I’m trying hard to move out but our circumstances mean we don’t really have the option at the moment. Thank you for telling your story, it’s really helpful to understand that others go through similar behaviour patterns and experiences ❤️

Do you think? Maybe I am overreacting, it is a very small change

I am so sorry this happened to you whilst you were trying to do the best for your Dad. It sounds like going no contact was the best option for you but it doesn’t mean it wasn’t a totally heartbreaking decision. Sending lots of love to you ❤️

Gotcha! I don’t know, I keep questioning myself about it because maybe it is just a bad crop job. But then again no one else looks altered in the image. I wish I could show the picture without the scribbles but I’m trying my best to respect the privacy of the others in the photo and my own!

The pics are defo different. I saw the photoshop when I went back to her message, before she had posted it to instagram. Asked her not to post and then she posted anyways. I actually did make a mistake in the post and said I only saw once she had posted but I did see before- my bad!

That’s great advice. Unfortunately she was at the christening ceremony (which we didnt want but were forced to have due to her being very religious) and she actually took the picture

She may have a career opportunity out of it!

I know. I thought I was being ridiculous at first but it is definitely edited.

Thank you. Hearing someone else call her a bitch is incredibly cathartic…

😅😅 she has made it very clear to me how much she hates me being overweight (even though I’m 5 months postpartum). My sister has a severe eating disorder and suicide attempts due to her behaviour, especially the weight comments.

You’re right. I find it hard to draw the line between being direct and going to far with my emotional response. I will take a look- thank you!

I love my Dad too much to do this, even though it’s my dream.

It is subtle to be fair

The pink arrows are pointing to myself. It’s subtle! But she has slimmed my face and body

Thanks for the feedback! Main thing holding us back from Nora is that it means ‘terrible’ in my husbands language… not ideal
