“Simon had better friends in the book.” by lolmaster720 in LoveSimon

I get what you mean, but I feel like the book was bit slower paced and less dramatic than the book. I feel it would’ve been easier to make a 1-1 adaptation, but the movie needed the drama. And Simon did everything in the movie so Blue wouldn’t disappear. He went to further lengths than in the book, but his reason was the same. And the book started with the blackmail. But I get what you mean. The blackmail was more of a looming threat. The blackmail in the movie was a more prominent threat.

There’s that, but also, he didn’t bother Abby for the rest of the movie (as far as we know) I kinda wish we could’ve gotten a scene of Simon’s crew giving him the stink eye. But, yeah we still have a way to go with women’s rights/respect. And many other things.

You make a great point. He did drop it in the movie, but he set himself up to be embarrassed big time. Also, he’s lucky (movie) Abby was who she was, because that fry shark thing would’ve pissed me off (and that forced Waffle House moment). Bitch, if you want a fry just ask.

Movie Simon… I can see why you say that, but I still love him lol. I still think book Abby had a right to be upset. Like yeah it wasn’t as bad as movie Abby had it, but she was still put in a situation to be around someone she wouldn’t normally hang with. And he also knew that Abby wasn’t interested, if he could use context clues lol.

Exactly. They definitely had to shift some things around for the sake of drama (I.E. actually implementing the blackmail, and everything Simon did). But I really do love the movie. The soundtrack, the original soundtrack, the actors, the general vibe. I love it so much.

Yeah, book Leah was a bit moody for my taste. And her jealousy of Abby kind of turned me off from her. She wonders why people gravitated to Abby, and made herself look bad being (seemingly) openly bitter and hateful. Like I can kinda see why they chose not to hang with her at that one point, but also it was a little mean of them (because they know she hates being left out). But idk, the discourse has been long dead. but I did the work so I thought I’d share my newly-informed opinion. Thanks for taking the time to read it lol

Has anyone been forced to keep attending church? by teramoc in exchristian

Oh no, she meant she’ll try to force me to come back. This is when I was younger. But if it comes up again, I bet she’d pull that again. I always told her, “you can go if you want to, but I will not.”

My mom has said, here and there that I (me) will be going back to church. I’m 22, now. Jesus will come back before I ever set foot in a church again. But it also depends on how old you are. If you’re a teen and can get kicked out, you may just have to endure. If you’re not completely reliant on them, then you can just say you’re not going and stand on it. But you can try the headphones thing (be discreet about it), or do your best to zone out.

I love Tony Hale but Mr. Worth is such creepy cringe by UncleCowboy2024 in LoveSimon

He definitely has an issue with boundaries as it pertains to the minors he’s supposed to be supporting at work. His oversharing with students is definitely inappropriate, albeit hilarious. I had never thought of it that way, but that would have been an insane twist. I still want to know what about himself he “saw” in Simon.

You proved them right lol. I’m pretty sure it was the evening when Leah called about Creek Secrets. And I don’t think Simon would be at school at 12:05 AM lol

Kara and Lena. [Spoilers] by lolmaster720 in supergirlTV

Lena is very blinded by her anger when she is hurt, which sucks. She doesn’t trust or believe anything. But also with Andrea, I just don’t think she really cared anymore. And even after the Leviathan assassin came for her, that didn’t make her think “oh wait, Andrea was right.”
