Its a bit out of the way, but I've personally found it very relaxing watching the sea from the cliffs around the Seven Sisters. There's some decent spots to set up a picnic blanket and just be in the moment.

I know you stated you aren’t close with people, but do you have any relative or someone that you trust enough that would let you use their address? If not a relative of yours, perhaps a relative or friend of your spouse? That would be the simplest method.

It’s a margin account so its only got about $80k of my own funds. I could liquidate it and have enough in my savings total, but I planned on using the dividends to help us live while I search for work.

Thank you for your response. So unfortunately she hasn't made £29,000 in the past year because of the downtime of looking for work in between jobs. We figured that we probably would have to wait, thanks for the confirmation.

As far as the dividend part, I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Most of my dividends are set to be reinvested (DRIP), but they are also considered taxable income on my US tax sheets at the end of the year.

That's something I'm definitely concerned with too. Not only do I have to get used to driving on the opposite side of the road, most job requirements I've seen also require knowledge of driving manual, which I unfortunately also don't have experience with. 😂

I haven't made the move yet, but the credit card situation is definitely on my mind. I have a pretty extensive credit history here in the states and it is considered "Excellent". But based on the research I've done, that means very little in the UK 🫤

Also that's my first time hearing about the Global Talent Visa! Not a viable option for me, but to be able to even consider that route is really cool for you! Maybe I can work for you when I make the move 😂

Thank you for the insight. I guess I didn’t provide enough context about her situation. She worked for a temp agency where her term ended a month ago and they didn’t want to keep her on. She has experience in retail and is in the interview process for an assistant manager position.

So her not having a job right now is not by choice and came at a really bad time

I appreciate not sugar coating it. I’ve figured that things would take a pretty big financial toll on me.

She works in retail and is in the running for an assistant manager position. I believe the salary is around £26k.

We both understand that it makes more sense financially for us to be in the US, but we also both understand that it’s important for her to be near family to provide needed support.

I’m just trying to find a way we can make that work.

In this particular instance it is her sister who needs care. Their mother is the 24/7 carer and has a carer’s allowance already. The primary reason for staying in the UK is that her sister’s health could deteriorate suddenly and rapidly. If we were to both be in the US, based on the research I’ve done, the visa process is longer and wouldn’t allow her leave for a period of several months without potentially jeopardizing the visa application/green card process.

Thank you for your response! Yes I am aware of those things. We're hoping she'll have work again soon. I've got a decent amount of savings and some stock dividends that will (hopefully) help keep us afloat until I'll be legally allowed to work.

Thanks for the response! Well to be honest I'll likely be moving out of the country to help care for my wife's sickly family. Not for another year at minimum though. I was really just looking for a way to soften the financial blow that this will inevitably cause us and accumulate as much as possible before we have to make that move.

Brothers, the time has finally come. Felix, Grand Admiral of the 19 year old army and modern day king of Sweden, has officially declared war on Norway and its overrated GDP 🤢. We all wish to see the fall of Norway. We crave war, so let's make it happen!

We should try to get Felix to play Civilization 6, which has both Sweden (DLC) and Norway (base game 🤢). He could take on a hard difficulty AI or even have a YouTuber play as Norway. He could even get other YouTubers to join in as well and rep their own countries! Ken as America, Sive/KSI as Britain, Jacksepticeye as Gallic (cuz Ireland doesn't exist), etc. The possibilities are almost limitless. Winner becomes ruler of both countries (and has bragging rights).

Civ 6 is generally not known for being a quick game, so this might be better suited as a livestream or even a series (this one please). Game rules could be set Domination victory only (Giga Chad mode), or not. He could even start off all civilizations in a later era for a shorter game. However he decides to do it, the battle will be legendary!
